Internship Bibliothèque Anglophone January 2013 - July 2013 Creation from start to finish of a programme called "Faces of the Anglophone World" to be used in collèges level 3ème The context The Bibliothèque Anglophone is working in partnership with the Conseil Général on a programme in English for use in collèges starting from September 2013. The programme is called "Faces of the Anglophone World", and is divided into several parts The BA has decided that the contents for the first academic year of 2013 / 2014 will be based on the US. "Faces of America" is Part 1 of the overall programme. Multiple facets of US history and culture are being covered, (ethnic groups, civil rights, major historical events, painting, music, cinema, sport ...)…………This programme needs further development, is currently being tested in pilot schools, and will carry on being tested until June 2013 The BA will also be developing, from scratch, the other parts of the overall programme "Faces of the Anglophone World" based on history and culture of ALL Anglophone countries. Other parts will include "Faces of South Africa, Faces of Oceania, Faces of Ireland, Faces of the UK, Faces of Canada, etc Each college will be able to finetune the contents of the course with the BA according to its own specific requirements. Each college will define the length of the subject matter with the BA in terms of number of "interventions" The main aims of the internship 1) Help establish and finalise the subject matter with the members of the BA Education Committee on the "Faces of US" chapter, in collaboration with St.Edwards' professors 2) Create, from A to Z, the first draft project of the remaining parts of "Faces of Anglophone World", in relationship with all members of the BA, Maison de l'Europe, English-Speaking Union, UCO institutions, Angers University 3) Research the subject matter of each defined subject and present ideas and potential contents on a regular basis to the BA Education Committee 4) Carry out the writing up of the contents for each facet 5) Help finalise the pedagogical guidelines for future US students from St.Edwards, CIDEF, Sundef, to use in the classroom (Faces of America programme) 6) Set up from scratch the pedagogical guidelines for future Anglophone "intervenants" in the rest of the "Faces of Anglophone World" programme, in collaboration with college teachers, UCO teachers, University teachers
