Sprucing Up! We always want to put the best foot forward. Kim and I clean and tidy up our house when we know we have company coming. We want to put our best foot forward as a church for our 60th Anniversary Celebration in October. So we want to tidy up our church. We are scheduling three Spruce Days: August 31, September 14, and September 28. We will start each day at 8:00 am (you may come at 7:45 am for donuts and coffee), and we are targeting to finish each day around noon (you may stay a little longer for pizza).

The following are what we will be doing: * Paint the eave by church office * Paint the eave by Fellowship Hall entrance * Build a fence around dumpster * Put metal edging and mulch in planter by office windows * Paint doors facing small courtyard area by Fellowship Hall * Paint eave in front of the Nursery area * Paint exterior wall of Nursery area * Paint backside of the auditorium * Paint bottom part of the foyer area

Children, youth and adult Sunday school classes are also supposed to clean up/tidy up their classrooms by October 6. We dare not expect the babies and toddlers to clean their rooms!

We need your expertise/your muscles/your help. It will be fun getting these done for our anniversary. Bring paint brushes, rollers, and other tools. Come join the fun!

What YOU can do to help:

We have as our honored guest speaker, Dr. Paige Patterson, president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Of course we want to share a generous honorarium with him as well as being sure to have comfortable accommodations for him while he is with us.

We will be serving a church breakfast and also a delicious catered lunch on Sunday, Oct. 13th.

We are advertising our celebration locally and sending invitations by mail to former staff and members who have moved away. All of this does require funding. That is where you come in! If you wish to make a donation to help fund our 60th Anniversary Celebration over and above your regular tithes and offerings, please indicate that it is for “60th Ann.” on your check or envelope.

Please prayerfully consider what the Lord would have you give toward this momentous occasion. There are sign up sheets in the foyer and in your Sunday school rooms so you can register for this occasion.

Given to Date for 60th Anniversary Fund: $235.00
