Namaste & Welcome to Nepal!!

This is a grand tour which will take you to the most famous attractions in Nepal. Your travel will start from the cultural hub of the country Kathmandu, where the number of the temples are more than buildings. Then you will drive to the hilltop village of Nagarkot famous for closer views of Himalayas, sunrise and sunset views.

You will then continue on to “Heart of the Jungle” Chitwan, where you will indulge in various jungle activities in this sub-tropical region of Nepal. Your next destination is Lumbini “Birth Place of Lord Gautam Buddha”. This place has various ancient relics dating back to second century BC.

Then you proceed on to famous tourist hot-spot of Pokhara town also referred to as “City of Lakes and Mountains”. Pokhara has pristine lakes and the mountains that seem to rise from the valley floor. The view of Mount Annapurna reflection in the Phewa Lake while boating is one thing you should not miss to see!!!

DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU (-/-/-)

Arrival in Kathmandu Meeting and assistance at the airport and transfer to the hotel.

Rest of the day is free.

DAY 02: KATHMANDU (BREAKFAST/-/-)

After breakfast, sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swoyambhunath Stupa

It is a place where the city’s Kings were crowned. Having been build and rebuilt over the generations it is now the valley’s number one tourist attractions. Most of the temples you see here are a mere three or four centuries old. The entire square was designated as a World Heritage Monument in 1979.

The Durbar Square is teeming with shrines and statues. Walk around Kumari Chowk which is a home of “living goddesses”, she comes to the balcony at the scheduled time to welcome the guests

Continue on to Swoyambhunath Stupa “Monkey Temple”

On the top of the hill west of Kathmandu value is one of the popular and instantly recognizable symbols of Nepal. It is also referre d to as “Monkey Temple” by many tourists because of the large tribes of monkeys that guards the hill.

Legends say after the Bodhisattva Manjushri drained the water from the lake revealing the Kathmandu valley, the lotus one the island of the lake was transformed into the hillock, and the blazing light from the lotus became the statue. 365 stone steps lead straight to one of the most sacred Buddhist sites, from where painted eyes of Swoyambhunath seem to peer down your soul.

Afternoon, sightseeing tour of Bhaktapur Durbar Square

Bhaktapur also known as ‘Bhadgaon’ is the third largest town in the valley. The stone embedded street links a string of temples, monastery, courtyards and monumental squares. You will quickly notice how vibrant the town’s cultural life is with strong communities of potters, woodcarvers and weavers. Bhaktapur Durbar Square is much larger and much less crowded then compared to other two durbar squares. Just upon entering the square you will notice the substitute signs of four great I ndian pilgrimage sites. Most recognizable is the finely carved Bansi Narayan Mandir of Bishnu.

35 kms from Kathmandu on the eastern rim of the valley is the hill of Nagarkot (1950m). This place offers a great mountain v iews. On a clear weather views extends all the way from Mt. Dhaulagiri in the west, past Mt. Everest to Kanchunjunga in the west.

While the mountains are relatively distant compared to the intimate view you will experience. Nagarkot is also a famous dest ination for sunset and sunrise view.

Upon arrival in Nagarkot transfer to the hotel.Evening, possibility of sunset view from the hotel premises.

DAY 03: NAGARKOT - POKHARA (BREAKFAST/-/-/-)

Early morning, sunrise view from the hotel premises. After breakfast drive to Pokhara town (235 kms/7 hrs drive)

After Kathmandu, Pokhara is the most popular destination in Nepal. It is also referred as city of lakes and mountains. It is also the gateway to one of the best trekking location in the world. Approx. 200 kms from Kathmandu Pokhara enjoys a mild climate, clean air, reflection of snowcapped mountains on the sheltered lake. Its relaxed atmosphere is pleasantly removed from the hectic hustle and bustle of Kathmandu.

Lakeside Pokhara is a traveller’s oasis. The tourist area of lakeside, stretched out along the southeast shore of the valley’s largest lake.

Upon arrival in Pokhara, rest of the day is free. Evening stroll around lakeside area.

DAY 04: POKHARA (BREAKFAST/-/-)

Early morning, excursion to Sarangkot hill for a closer view of mountains (weather permitting)

At an elevation of 1592m, Sarangkot is probably the most popular short excursion from Pokhara. It is perfect viewpoint t o admire the mountain views and splendid panorama. The panoramic view includes a glimpse of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna South and Mt. Hiunchuli with the bulk of Mt. Annapurna behind, unmistakable mt. Fishtail, Mt. Annapurna III, IV and II and Lamjung Himal. Pre-dawn excursion to Sarangkot is recomm ended to view beautiful sunrise over the Himalayas.

After breakfast tour of Pokhara’s best known temple Binde Basini . You will find the pleasant, shady setting very impressive. This temple is dedicated to lord Durga and is very famous among Hindus. Visit Davis Fall also known as Patale Chango. This fall is the outflow of from Phewa Lake and at Davi Falls it suddenly drops down into the hole in the ground and disappears. The name came from the tale about a tourist named David, who disappeared down the hole, taking his girlfriend with him!, visit Gupteshwor cave.

Later one hour boat ride on Phewa lake. After boat ride transfer back to the hotel.

Rest of the day is free.

DAY 05: POKHARA - LUMBINI (BREAKFAST/-/-)

After breakfast, drive to Lumbini through a mountainous highway (approx. 7 hrs)

Birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama - the founder of Buddhism, known as Buddha or the enlightened one is the famous Buddhist pilgrimage si te in Nepal. For about one billion Buddhist, Lumbini is where it all began. This is confirmed by the existence of an inscribed pillar erected after 318 years after the event by Buddhist emperor Ashoka, and by the remains of Ancient ruins all over.

Evening, visit Sacred Lumbini Garden and famous monasteries.

DAY 06: LUMBINI - CHITWAN (BREAKFAST/LUNCH/DINNER)

After breakfast drive to Chitwan

Situated in south central Nepal, the park covers 932 Sq. Km in sub-tropical low lands of Terai. About one-fifth of the park is savanna with over 70 different species of grasses, known generically as “elephant grass”. Chitwan is among Asia’s finest national park, renowned for its variety and abundance of wildlife, and its top-class tourist lodges and Jungle activities.

You have to be extremely lucky to see one of its elusive tigers and leopards.

Upon arrival in Chitwan, transfer to the jungle resort. After lunch commence elephant back safari t explore the jungle and view various wildlife.

DAY 07: CHITWAN (BREAKFAST/LUNCH/DINNER)

Indulge yourself in various jungle activities such as jungle walks, dugout/canoe ride, visit to Elephant breeding center, visit to local Tharu tribe villages e.t.c

Evening flora and fauna presentation at the resort or live cultural dance performance by local Tharu tribes.

Dinner and overnight at the jungle resort in Chitwan.

DAY 08: CHITWAN - KATHMANDU (BREAKFAST/-/-)

After, breakfast drive bac k to Kathmandu (185 kms/6 hrs drive ). Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day is free.

Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

DAY 09: KATHMANDU - DEPARTURE (BREAKFAST/-/-)

Free till departure, Transfer to the airport at time to connect your onward flight (ETD 1140 HRS).
