    the World

    O U R M I S S I O N

Im not a dancer. But Ilove watching someone wholoves to dance and does sogracefully and un-selfconsciously. It is a joy tobehold: a dancer at one

with the music, flowing andfree, lost in the joy of thedance.

I hold back. Imself-conscious, awkward, uncertainbut I really lovemusic and when Im bymyself I clown around andtry moving to the beat of asong filtering through thespeakers of a hospitalelevator, or an empty

grocery aisle, hoping no oneis watching. On the inside,I feel like Gene Kelly; onthe outside, Im sure I looklike a dancing hippo fromDisneys animated classic,Fantasia.

Last June at Church ofthe Resurrection inLeawood I sat behind Mattand his Mom, Nancy during

a worship service led byour Conference Youth.Matt was amazingheworshiped with afreedom, joy and vitalitythat put me to shame.

Every fiber of his beingwas given over to hisworship of God: Mattshands, arms, legs, feetand whole body were lostin wonder, love and praise.I saw manifest the loveof God working in asoul-at-worship right infront of me.

So, whats wrong withme? Why cant I worship

like Matt? Why cant anyof us?Matt is a tall, good-

looking young adult who inother areas of his life isidentified as a personwith special needs.I think a lot of us areSpecial NeedsWorshipers! Worship is adance with God. We hold

backdont let go, will notallow ourselves to let Godtake the lead, toexperience the sheerexhilaration, freedom andjoy of worship, the dance

with God, the creator ofevery sinew, bone, muscle, rhythm and pulse of ourbodiesto worship theLord of the Dance in thedance of worship: free, joyful, adoring, flowing inthe Spirit, carried awayby the love of Godwouldnt that be a tasteof heaven?

    I think we are Special

Needs Worshipers andGod has infinite patiencewith our lifelong learningcurve. Let the Spirit ofGod enter and lead you inthe dance of worship thisweek; lets see whathappens!

    Grace and peace,Pastor Paul

To calm hernerves, she decided tohave a Bible verse whichhad always brought hercomfort (1 FIRST John4:18, "There is no fear inlove; for perfect love castout fear") engraved on hewedding cake. So shecalled the caterer and allarrangements were made

About a week before thewedding, she received acall from the cateringcompany. "Is this reallythe verse you want onyour cake?" they asked.Yes, she confirmed, it wasthe one she wanted, andafter a few more

questions they said theywould decorate the cakeas requested.

The wedding day came, and everything wasbeautiful...until thereception, when the bridewalked in to find the cakeemblazoned with John4:18: "For you have hadfive husbands, and theone whom you now haveis not your husband."
