Description: This procedure describes how to load the grease gun that shipped with your Z Corp Printer.

Procedure:

1.

Begin by unscrewing the bottom cap of the grease gun and removing the spring and plunger.

2.

Remove the plastic cap from the grease cartridge and scoop out a little grease with a cotton swab.

3.

Liberally apply grease to the sides of the rubber plunger. Reinstall the plunger and spring and tighten the bottom cap.

4.

Now unscrew the tube of the grease gun from the handle. If there is already a grease cartridge in the gun (if you are replacing or trying to reseat the grease cartridge) perform steps 5, 6, and 7 before this step.

5.

Pull the rod all the way out.

6.

Locate the groove in the rod.

7.

Pull the rod sideways and fit this groove into the slot in the end of the tube. This will lock the plunger in place.

8.

Slide the open end of the grease cartridge into the tube and then press down to seat it on the plunger. Twisting the grease cartridge once it comes in contact with the rubber plunger may help to seat it. Note: A grease cartridge that has been crushed or damaged in shipping may not work correctly.

9.

Using a fresh cotton swab, pierce the foil seal. It is not necessary to remove all the foil, simply making a hole is enough.

10.

Use this cotton swab to apply grease to the rubber seal inside the handle.

11.

Screw the tube back onto the handle. Unlock the rod and push it all the way back in.

12.

Prime the grease gun by pumping several times. At first some dark grease used to manufacture the gun may come out.

13.

Continue pumping until the grease coming out is mostly white. When this happens, the gun is working correctly. If grease just won’t come out repeat the following steps in this order: 5, 6, 7, 4, 8, 11, 12.

14.

It is suggested to store the grease gun in a plastic bag after use.
