Why its essential to design networks for todays mobile
workforceMidsize businesses that want to use technology to compete
and grow are rapidly adopting mobile technology to enable their
employees to work effectively outside the office. And with very
good reason. By 2013, the combined installed base of smartphones
and browser-equipped enhanced phones will exceed 1.82 billion
units.1 More and more employees stay connected to the office
remotely and rely on Wi-Fi, text messaging, smartphones, notebooks,
iPads, and cloud computing. In addition, they are increasingly
incorporating social networks like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
into their marketing plans and business models.2
But with limited IT staff and budgets, most midsize businesses
find it challenging to effectively architect and manage both wired
and wireless networks.
