Broadband Data
Broadband Subscriber DataUse the FCC’s 477 format that you use to submit
data to the FCCDetails in next few slidesNew process if you manually enter information

This year, broadband availability data is being collected via the State Broadband Data and Development (mapping) Program.

Broadband Subscriber Data Details
If you manually enter information into the FCC’s 477 website, you can submit that data via either:Excel Spreadsheet Comma delimited text file.
In the past, we only accepted comma delimited text files.
If you send your 477 data to The FCC in a comma delimited text file, you can send it to us the same way.

Operational Issues We had Last YearThat we’d like your Help Solving (1 of 2)
Census tract numbers According to the FCC’s directions for submitting 477 data,
census tract numbers are defined as: A number up to 4 digits Followed by a decimal Followed by a number up to 2 digits.
For each census tract number you provide data about, please be sure to include a decimal point and to the right of the decimal either two numbers or two zeros.
Excel Spreadsheets - Video data Please do NOT submit cells with formulas.
Formulas do not upload into our Oracle database. In each cell that contains numbers created by formulas, please type
in an actual number (or use an Excel function to convert the number created by a formula into an actual number).

Percent Residential Connections If you have no residential connections in a census
tract, please enter zero. Technology Code “Other”
Sixth place in comma delimited text file. Please include commas with no data between them if
you are meaning to leave that empty.

Broadband Availability Data Reporting Process Same as Last Year
Like last year, broadband availability data is being collected via the State Broadband Data and Development (mapping) Program.
To make life easier for you… Your organization will again NOT be required to report Broadband Availability data under DIVCA, if it has fully and properly submitted “third round” broadband availability data to the CPUC for the NTIA’s State Data and Development Program.
If your organization did not do that, please submit broadband availability data per the “third round” CPUC broadband mapping data request now.

Video related data only in Excel Spreadsheet Broadband data is handled separately, as we
just discussed. As a result, last year the column for
broadband availability data was removed. It remains removed.

User Fees for Fiscal Year 2009-2010
Resolution T-17305 User Fee based on households in holders’ video service
territories, rather than according to revenues, through Fiscal Year 2012-2013.
Rate set at from $0.0417 per household for FY 2010-2011, down from $0.0434 per household for FY 2009-2010
User Fee due on April 30, 2011 for franchises issued before Resolution (2/24/11). For franchises issued after 2/24/11, user fee due
within 60 days after franchise is issued.

How to access the Video Franchising website: Go to www.cpuc.ca.gov and click on the Communications tab.

Video Franchising Main Page: Scroll down the page for various information pertaining to Video Franchising. Clicking on any of the four top links will put you to the bottom half
of the page for quick access to Applications, Franchises, and Reporting information.
