10 abstracts received

Five submissions selected and evaluated for 2007 EA Award, and approved by Board

Winner is Kicking Horse Canyon Project – British Columbia Ministry of Transportation

Council will investigate means to raise award profile

a) Synthesis of Practices for Environmental Management Systems (EMS) sponsored project:

Presents EMS best practices, success stories and lessons learned

Project has been completed and will be published in Fall 2008

In Summary Council continues to successfully fulfill its mandate:

Continuously liaising with regulators on transportation-related issues and regulations

Addressing environmental issues related to planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of transportation infrastructure

Investigating potential projects Raising awareness of environmental issues within TAC

membership, particularly on climate change Mandate complimented by Environmental Issues

Management Standing Committee and Environmental Advisory and Legislation Standing Committee
