○ If the disaster prevention and disaster-related information that the national and local public bodies and the like own are managed and published in a format that is easy to utilize, it becomes possible to combine between data in each area and creates new services and values related to disaster prevention and disaster mitigation. It is expected that this will contribute to disaster prevention and disaster mitigation, making it possible for rapid and appropriate governmental judgment and evacuation action.

○ For this reason, a data standard was built in the disaster prevention and disaster mitigation area and a demonstration was performed relating to the distribution and coordination of disaster prevention and disaster mitigation using the disaster prevention and disaster mitigation information (damage information, weather, earthquakes, hazard maps, etc.) held by the Cabinet Office, Japan Meteorological Agency and local public bodies.

FY2012 demonstration experiments: Disaster-related information (Applications)

Shows flood danger areas at the same time as heavy rain warning and flood warning

Mashes up static information and real-time information of multiple agencies on the map => Provides information helpful to evacuation of local residents

[3] Set up evacuation centers

[1] From advisory to warning

Shows landslide hazards at the same time as landslide disaster warning information

Evacuation centers information* Shows names and number of evacuees

Evacuation advisory target area

Shows areas of advisory (heavy rain advisory, flood advisory)* Demonstration field of Yamagata City only

[Achievements and Issues]○ Based on the common API specification, succeeded in building and implementing APIs and data standards (vocabulary, etc.) in the disaster

prevention and disaster area, and verified their effectiveness.○ The challenge in the future is to coordinate existing multiple GIS systems with the common API and refining the vocabulary by conducting

demonstrations involving multiple local public bodies as the field.
