The in-game language depends onthe one that is set on the system.This title supports five differentlanguages: English, German, French,Spanish and Italian.If your Nintendo 3DS systemlanguage is set to one of these, thesame language will be displayed inthe software. 3 Parental Controls
You can use the following ParentalControls to restrict certain featuresof this software.

● StreetPassRestricts the exchange of ShadowLink data via StreetPass™ (p. 11).
4 Beginning the Game
Select NEW FILE to start theadventure from the beginning.
♦ Press and select SKIPto skip cutscenes.

Select a file with saved data tocontinue playing from when youlast saved.
Loading a SavedGame
After launching the software, press on the Title screen to advanceto the File Selection screen.
Select one of thethree files to startthe game.

5 Saving/Deleting Data
♦ Data will also be savedautomatically in some situations.
Approach aweather vane andpress to saveyour progress.
Saving Data
● Do not turn the power off, resetthe system or remove GameCards/SD Cards while saving.Make sure not to get dirt in theterminals. These actions couldresult in permanent data loss.
● Do not use external accessoriesor software to modify your savedata, as this can lead to aninability to progress or loss ofsave data. Any modification ispermanent, so be careful.
Deleting Data
Choose a file on the File Selectionscreen (p. 4), select DELETE thenhold + + simultaneously forthree seconds to delete that file.
6 Basic Play
Hearts
Hearts represent your lifeenergy, which will decrease if youare hit by enemy attacks, fall intopits, etc.You can find hearts by defeatingenemies, breaking pots and invarious other ways. Collect heartsyou find to replenish your lifeenergy.
Game Over
If you lose allyour hearts, itwill be gameover. SelectCONTINUE toresume playingfrom Link's house or the entranceof the dungeon you were in, orselect QUIT GAME to return to theTitle screen without saving.

Rupees
Rupees are the currency used inthe game. Use them to buy items inshops and for various other things.You will find Rupees all over theplace. Different colour Rupees areworth different amounts.

Hearts
Energy Gauge
This will deplete while you are awall painting and when you usecertain items. It will graduallyreplenish over time. When thegauge is empty you will no longerbe able to use certain items.
Zoom Icon
Touch to zoom in/out of the map.
Some of the information on thisscreen will only be displayed asyou progress in the story.
Maiamai Map
Your Rupees
Equipped Items
Shows the items you currently haveequipped in each slot.
Map
Link's current position is indicatedby , and shows the targetlocation.
Pins
Drag a pin over the map to place amarker (you can place up to 20 perworld). Touch a pin on the map tochange its colour or remove it.
Bell
Touch to call Irene. Irene can takeyou to any of the weather vanesyou've previously interacted with.
Perform Action with
Switch Map Icon
Touch and hold to view the otherside of the map.
Touch to check how many LostMaiamais there are in each area. Ifyou find enough Lost Maiamais andtake them back to Mother Maiamai,something good may happen…

Touch here or press to view your
items. You canchange the itemsyou have equippedto each slot here(p. 10).
Gear
Touch to view gearyou've collected.The effects of(usable) gear youare carrying will beappliedautomatically.

Dungeon Floors
Keys you have obtained will beshown here.
Some aspects of the screen displayin a dungeon will be slightlydifferent to when you're out on thefield.
Current FloorBoss Floor
Within dungeonsthere are somedoors which arelocked. To passthrough thesedoors, you willneed to find keys hidden in eachdungeon. Once you have a key,stand in front of a locked door andpress to open it.

Enter a warppoint toteleport toanother partof thedungeon.

The dungeon boss and treasurechests will be shown if you have acompass.

Spin Attack
Press to swingthe sword in frontof you.
Using the Sword
If you press andhold , thesword will let offa flash of light.After thishappens, releasethe button to perform a powerfulspin attack.
Beam
Moving the Camera
Use to move the camera around.
There are some actions which willonly become available as youprogress through the story.
Move
Slide to move.
You will be ableto shoot a beamfrom the MasterSword if you useit when your lifeenergy is full.
Once you have ashield, hold toguard yourselffrom attacks.
Using the Shield
Once you havethe PegasusBoots, hold todash in thedirection you arefacing. Variousthings may fall from trees and otherobjects if you bash into them whiledashing.
Dash
You can talk topeople byapproaching themand pressing .Similarly, you canread sign postsby standing in front of them andpressing . Press or toadvance the text.
Talk/Touch/Read/Investigate
Press whenstanding near apot or similarobject to pick itup and carry itover your head.Press again to throw the object.
Pick Up/Throw
Stand in front ofa wall and press to turn into apainting on thewall. When on awall, use tomove left and right, and press again to exit the wall. Spendingtime as a wall painting will deplete

your energy gauge. If the gaugeruns out while you are a painting,you will automatically exit the wall.
10 Items
Using Items
Press to usethe item set tothe X slot, and to use the itemset to the Y slot.
You can rentitems fromRavio's Shop inexchange forRupees. Rentalitems are used inthe same way as regular items, butwhen it's game over, rental itemswill automatically be returned.

Equipping Items
Touch ITEMS orpress toview your items.Select an itemwith and press or to set itto a slot.
♦ The X slot will become availableat some point in your adventure.
Use the HintGlasses andyou'll be ableto spot HintGhosts. HintGhosts will give you game hintsin return for Play Coins.Play Coins can be acquired bywalking around with yourNintendo 3DS system. Formore information, refer to theNintendo 3DS OperationsManual.

11 StreetPass
To deactivate StreetPass, open theSystem Settings and select DATAMANAGEMENT, then STREETPASSMANAGEMENT.

Activating StreetPass
Shadow Link data will beexchanged if you encounter otherplayers who also have StreetPassactivated for this software on theirsystems. Other players' data willappear as Shadow Link characterssomewhere in your game. Talk to aShadow Link character and you'llbe able to challenge him to abattle!
Shadow Link Battles(StreetPass)
Talk to Gramps inKakariko Villageand selectSETUP to adjustyour StreetPasssettings.
