substitute the design engineer’s specifications for each project but provides the

basis of the standards, which the design engineer shall follow. “

• Equipment pre- approval process developed

with NYP Facilities Operations to

standardize to improve maintenance and

reduce the number of spare parts

• “Or Equal” was eliminated from the recommended manufacturers when 3

or more manufacturers were listed.

• A handful of “Proprietary” equipment manufacturers such as: ASCO

Automatic Transfer Switches were identified as NYPH Standards.

• Architects and Engineering Firms are to use

selected NYP pre- approved Equipment from the

Equipment Cut e-book that resides on the portal.
