Objective: Define optimal strategies for implementing the Intelligent Mail Barcode, Intelligent Tray barcode and Intelligent Container barcode and for communicating in electronic documentation using Mail.dat or Web Services and FAST specific to a continuous mailer environment.

Definitions Continuous Mailer:

» Dispatches more than once per mailing to the USPS

» Provides a USPS Qualification Report for more than one dispatch

» May submit portions of the mailing to the USPS before qualification and postage documentation can be finalized

» Will have Customer Supplier Agreement (CSA) with the USPS. The CSA will define how and when the mailing must be dispatched for start the clock purposes

Continuous Mailing:

» Has a qualification report for the production day

» Or, a qualification report with mailings submitted over multiple days

» May have multiple dispatches

eDoc Submission Continuous mailers may submit:

» eDoc (USPS Qualification Report and Postage Statement) for the planned mailing for that production day prior to mailing

» eDoc at the end of that production day or after first pass for MLOCR/BCR mailings

» eDoc for a planned mailing that is dispatched across multiple days

Payment for that production day will occur with the updated and/or final submission to PostalOne!

For mailings submitted across multiple days payment is made for the containers dispatched during each production day providing the documentation represents physical handling units and physical containers

eDoc will be required daily for each mailing or portion of a mailing

If every piece can be identified in a container through eDoc, start the clock will be when the container id dropped

» Else start the clock for all mail to that separation will be at the critical entry time
