EXPLOSIVE CLADDING OF THIN METAL FOILS
1. Novel process for explosion cladding of thin metal foils using water buffer
have been designed and successfully tested.
2. Water buffer provides extremely smooth surface condition of clad foils and
opens possibility to refuse from post cladding mechanical treatment.
3. Water buffer may be considered as an additional parameter for managing
optimal energy transfer in explosion cladding of light and/or thin metals.
4. Changing water into the oil buffer considerably improves the performance
of pre-heating (up to 150 °C) cladding plate, if necessary.
