• Series 1 – PA and lateral scout: from lower neck to diaphragm for chest, from diaphragm to lesser trochanters for abd/pelvis both on inspiration.

• Series 2 – With IV contrast: Start at lung apices and extend through lung bases for a chest, from above diaphragm through ischial tuberosities for abd/pelvis.

• Smart Prep: If doing a smart prep, center over pulmonary artery for chest, center over liver for abd/pelvis.

• IV contrast rate: Use your best judgment whether to hand inject or use power injector. * Note: For chest and abdomen scanning, scan chest first, then scan abdomen. Use the amount

of IV contrast given in the abdomen column. Use the CT scan parameters indicated below for abdomen when scanning chest and abdomen/(pelvis) in one continuous scan.
