(Architectural Composition)
The DESIGN THEORY of architecture:THEORY is a
systematicstatement of principles, a formulation of apparent
relationships or underlyingprinciples of certain observed
phenomena. The theory of an Art explains theprinciples on which the
art is based. A principle is a fundamentalunderlying truth; neither
old nor new but timeless. Theprinciples onwhich the theory of
architecture is based i.e. the factors of good architecturewere
recognized by certain men who marshaled these factors together
toform a theory. Theory is the result of inference from experience-
thebasis for future practice. In experimenting with mud, stone and
brick menhave discovered certain effects to please the eye and
satisfy the mind;these discoveries enabled them to formulate or set
forward systematically aTheory of Architecture; this theory
provides the link between knowledge andthe activity of design.
History & Theory: The History of architecture is the
sequence of its facts
and developments, the chronicle of events; appreciation of the
theory showsus how beauty is realized in the form of building.

Volume, Illusion of Space and Colour. ThesePrinciples are
incorporated into visual language of goodcommunications.
