PRINCIPAL’S DESK
“Education is the latent talents of the individuals. It’s a training of mind rather
than the imposition of knowledge”.
AECS-Narwapahar has always been in pursuance of excellence in matters of
academics as well as co-curricular activities. The students are our pride…our
aim is to achieve fullest development of human potential.
This is a joint venture and we seek the cooperation of our authorities as well as
parents and which we are getting incessantly. I extend my cordial thanks to the
authorities and the parents for the trust that they repose on us.
It gives me an immense pleasure to present the first E-Newsletter of AECS-
Narwapahar. This is a humble attempt to encapsulate the fleeting glimpses of
our achievements. AECS-Narwapahar has carved a niche of its own in
education parlance.
Lastly, I congratulate the entire editorial team for their endeavour and
dedication that has resulted in publishing the first issue of the school
E-Newsletter.

CHANGE IN THE STAFF
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
During the session, there have been a few changes in the staff Dr.Kamlesh Kumar, Principal
was transferred to A.E.C.S-1 Hyderabad, Mr.C.L.Sharma, TGT (SS) Hindi was transferred to
A.E.C.S-3 Mumbai and Mr.Shishir Bhadke, PRT was transferred to A.E.C.S-3 Tarapur.
On the other side, the principal Mr.D.R.S.Rao joined the school on transfer from A.E.C.S
Manuguru. Mr.Pradeep Kumar has joined the school as a TGT (Special Educator) on direct
recruitment.
The school runs classes from I to X with two sections each with an exception of 3 sections each
in classes VIII &IX. Today we have 799 students on roll. There are 17 TGTs, 13 PRTs, 1
Librarian, 2 Office staff and 2 MTS.
The school has accomplished the mission of excellence in the Academics Arena. We achieved a
qualitative 100% result in class X in March 2016 Exam with as many as 18 students
securing10 CGPA out of 84 students which is an awesome benchmark in the history of
Narwapahar. The following are the 10 CGPA achievers:

The AEES has always aimed at the holistic development of the students in our school. The Co-
curricular Activities therefore go hand in hand with the academics. The school conducted
nearly 16 Co-curricular Activities each in Primary and Secondary Section during the Academic
session-2016-17. Around 600 prizes for these Co- Curricular Activities have been finalized for
the winning participants of this year. A special achievement in this horizon is, Miss Payoja
Mohanty of class IX won the Gold Medal in Avantika Dance Competition held at DAV Public
school Bistupur, Jamshedpur on 8th February, 2016
SEEP/RTE
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
SEEP is one of the vital initiative of Department of Atomic Energy through which the students
from economically and socially disadvantaged families from the neighbourhood are given the
admission into the schools administered by Atomic Energy Education Society. A.E.C.S
Narwapahar is determined to render its noble service for the cause of talent nurture of the
pupils under SEEP/TNP/RTE by providing them quality and free education. As of now, the
number of SEEP(TNP) / RTE students stands at 119 out of which 81 students are in Primary
and 38 students are in Secondary. It’s a matter of pride that Miss Shobha Murmu and Master
Rabindranath Murmu from SEEP/TNP category obtained 10 CGPA in the last class X Board
Exam.
Similarly we have got 100% result in Primary Section. This year 111 students of Primary
Section scored A* grade in all the subjects.

The school conducted various Inter-house Sports Competitions such as football, volleyball, Kho-Kho and
Athletics. The students were trained for local as well as Inter-A.E.C.S Tournament. The school also
organized DAE Sports Summer Coaching Camp in the months of April and May. Miss Priya Murmu of
class VIII/A won the Gold and Bronze Medal at the District Meet of Khel-India Athletics, Jamshedpur
and Ranchi respectively.
CHAMPIONS KEEP PLAYING UNTIL THEY GET IT RIGHT - BILLIE JEAN KING
All India Inter A.E.E.S Art Competition was conducted on 20th August, 2016. The students of both
Primary and Secondary Section participated in this competition. The school also organized XII Painting
Competition on Energy Conservation on 27th September, 2016 sponsored by Bureau of Energy Efficiency
through CBSE. The students of classes IV to IX participated in this competition. Miss Srishti of Class
VIII - C qualified with the first position in the selection round for the State Level.

NCC grooms the youth of our country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. Our school has 100 NCC
cadets – boys’ wing and girls’ wing. 24 NCC cadets from A.E.C.S Narwapahar attended Annual Training
Camp held at Co-operative College, Jamshedpur from 17.10.16 to 26.10.16. It was organized by 37
Jharkhand Battalion, NCC Jamshedpur.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY
SCIENCE, SOCIAL SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS AND TEACHING AIDS
EXHIBITION
Investiture Ceremony is the first occasion where the school formally entrusts the newly elected and
selected members of the Students’ Council with their positions, prerogatives and responsibilities.
On 6th July 2016 the investiture ceremony was organized and the Student’s Governing Council was
constituted comprising Captain, Vice-captain and Prefects of different sectors in school. The Chief
Guest Mr. Rahul Verma, Assistant Commandant, CISF, Jadugoda conferred the insignia to the cabinet
which includes, the School Captain (Girls) - Sanskriti and School Captain (Boys) –Aniket Gudipaty.
In the Primary Section, the Principal bestowed the insignia to the student representatives. Miss.Laxmi
Murmu and Master Manoj Das from Class V were selected as the School Captain (Girl) and the School
Captain (Boy) respectively.

In order to foster the scientific temperament and to give students a universal outlook and global
understanding, the Local Level Social Sciences, Mathematics and Science Exhibition was organized on
8th July, 2016. It was inaugurated by Mr.P.K.Dhar G.M (Electrical), UCIL, Narwapahar. As many as
100 projects/models were exhibited and demonstrated by the students of Primary and Secondary
Section.

EXTERNAL EXAMINATIONS
It’s a great fortune that the school got an opportunity to organize the All India Inter
AECS/AEJC Science, Social Science, Mathematics and Teaching Aids Exhibition on 12th and
13th August, 2016 which was inaugurated by Mr.Ajay Ghade, G.M. (Mines, TS &P) UCIL
Narwapahar in association with the Guests Mr.S.K.Guhaniyogi, G.M. (Mechanical), UCIL,
Turamdih and Mr. C.H.Sharma, Chairman LMC, G.M (Personnel) IRS UCIL, Jadugoda.
Mr. Rajnish Prakash, Chairman, A.E.E.S. Mumbai was the chief guest at the valedictory
function. The Exhibition included more than 100 participatory exhibits from 30 AEC schools.

The national festivals are the vivid
reflections of the glimpses of Indian
History. The celebration of national
festivals arouses the feelings of oneness
among the children. It fosters among the
children the sense of patriotism and
reminds them of the sacrifices and noble
contributions of the freedom fighters and
social reformers of our country. We
celebrated different National Festivals
like Independence Day, Republic Day
and Gandhi Jayanti with great pomp,
pageant and glory.
A.E.C.S Narwapahar celebrated Teachers’ Day On 5th September to commemorate the birth anniversary
of the former President of India Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. On this day, our Principal and three
teachers of the school were felicitated with certificates and mementoes for their successful completion of
25 years of service in A.E.E.S.The recipients are:

The Science project – “Energy from waste water and cow dung” from A.E.C.S Narwapahar
secured third position in Junior Science Group. The Project was presented by Master Aniket
Gudipati and Master Vikrant Kumar from class X.

The children of class V and IX were taken for an Excursion to the Jubilee Park and Tata Steel Zoo,
Jamshedpur on 20/11/16 and 04/12/16 respectively. The students of class IX visited Sudha Dairy,
Jamshedpur. These Educational Trips gave the students an exposure to the outer world along with ample
opportunities of first hand learning besides recreation.

COMMUNAL HARMONY WEEK
National Communal
Harmony week was observed
from 19th November to 25th
November, and the National
Flag Day was observed on
23rd November. The Staff
and the students contributed
generously for National
Foundation of Communal
Harmony.
CLEAN INDIA CAMPAIGN
A.E.C.S Narwapahar took an active step in the
Clean India Campaign. The Cleanliness
Awareness Programme was conducted on 1st
September, 2016 at A.E.C.S (Primary)
Narwapahar. A Cycle Rally was carried out by
the students of secondary section to spread the cleanliness awareness among the people in the
locality. Besides this, on another occasion,
staff and the students distributed pamphlets
with the message conveying the ways of
Recycling the Domestic Waste. Similarly “NO
PLASTIC” rally was carried out by the
Students of Primary and Secondary Sections.
HINDI PAKHWADA
A.E.C.S Narwapahar celebrated HINDI
PAKHWADA from 14th September to 29th
September, 2016 to promote Hindi language in
modern Indian society. The activities of the Morning
Assembly were conducted in Hindi. In addition to it,
various competitions like Calligraphy, Poem
Recitation, Story-Telling etc were conducted to instil
among all the spirit and importance of Hindi.
Mr V. S. Shrivastava, Head, Health Physics, UCIL,
Narwapahar was the Chief Guest and awarded the
prizes for the winners of the various competitions.

Today, A.E.C.S. Narwapahar has come a long way in 25 years of its peerless service to the student
community. As we move forward in this voyage of discovery of excellence, we have crossed many
milestones. Every batch of students is doing better than the previous one. We have been fortunate enough
to be backed by a team of very motivated and dedicated staff. A.EC.S-Narwapahar is well determined to
transform the incredible values and culture in the young generations to shape the nation with the new
dimensions of harmony. By nurturing the young minds and strengthening the values, we strive to
motivate the students to reach their true potential and thus make them productive citizens of the globe and
worthy human beings. With a visionary management, inspiring leadership and distinguished faculty, we
are all set to move forward to scale the greater heights in the years ahead.
The journey of excellence continues….
The school library has a total of 16,920 books and 274
Educational CDs.
It facilitates the readers with different references and
periodicals. The library is completely computerized for
the easy and effective accession of all kinds of available
References. A Book Exhibition was also organized in
order to make the Readers aware of the latest
acquisition of books in the library. With a view to
inculcate the Reading Habits among the students, the
regular and voracious readers are given the Best
Library Reader Award every year.
