AARIssue –View of demonstrationDiscussion – Since we were in the classroom, some cadets in the back of the room had a hard time seeing what was being demonstrated at the front of the room. Recommendation – Do the demonstration on a table
Issue –Taking notesDiscussion – Instruction went by too quickly for cadets to take adequate notes from the PowerPoint presentations.Recommendation – Slow down during instruction time, allowing cadets to take sufficient notes on topics and restate key information.
Issue – More realistic practicalDiscussion – Cadets wanted a more realistic casualty to evaluate as better visual aidRecommendation – Use dummies with fake blood and injures to show possible signs and symptoms expected when evaluating a casualty
Issue – Confusion about differences between first-aid devicesDiscussion – Identify all the different ways to use the first aid tools and explain when to use each variationRecommendation – More thorough definition and explanation of the purpose of each device through slides

CONCEPT OF THE OPERATION:This operation will be conducted in four phases.
Phase I:This phase begins with ensuring each student understands the concept of the operation at Company Meeting, via e-mail, and briefed at staff call/training meeting on 8 Oct 2012. This phase will end when feedback of understanding is returned
Phase II: This will begin with lab formation of full accountability outside of Memorial hall. Followed by group separation to conduct the proper training. This phase will end when class rotations are initiated
Phase III: This phase begins with PowerPoint presentation introduction prior to class rotations. Within two rotations, MS II instructors will teach a total of eight classes (four per rotation) to the students. After conducting class instruction in the rotation, students will conduct practicals at the end to ensure proper understanding of the material given
Phase IV: This phase begins with a review of the material, followed by an organized police call and After Action Review at the completion of lab. This phase ends with a final formation with full accountability
Coordinating Instructions:Uniform: ACUs/ARisk Assess: L
Cadet OIC: cEngleCadet NCOIC: cWolfeCadet Instructor: cMiller and cKeklik
MISSION:MS1, MS II, and BCCs will conduct a Tactical Combat Casualty Care #2 course on 10 Oct 2012 at Memorial in order to educate students on splinting, airway management, and respiratory issues, and controlling bleeding

SQD ATTACK•Issue: Objective •Discussion: One of the OBJ’s planned was located at the intersection of 2 LDA’s and another footpath making the OBJ very difficult to negotiate. Reconnaissance of the OBJ proved to be difficult as well. •Recommendation: Plan for OBJ’s that may be less difficult and gradually increase in difficulty as STX progress.•Issue: OPFOR placement•Discussion: OPFOR were instructed where to set-up for their specific lanes. OPFOR for one of the STX lanes was in the incorrect location and had to be moved at the last moment. This caused confusion between the TAC’s and the MS3’s. •Recommendation: OPFOR should be placed by either the OIC or NCOIC prior to the start of lab. TAC’s should all have a copy of the CONOP on them at lab.
