Good morning, honourable judges, distinguished guests, teachers and fellow students. We’re here today to share with you our plights, “IT’S NOT EASY TO BE A TEEN”

As we all know, life is full of uncertainty, Woes…., adventures… ..and challenges. As babies…we’re so carefree… ( Pampered… and cherished… Hugged and protected. Tik, tik, tok, tok, (x) Tik, tik, tik, tik, tok, tok, tok!

Our lives took a change , once we start schooling. Go to school? School? School? Yes, it’s time you go to school. You’ll learn A, B, C You’ll learn how to read, write and count. You’ll learn many things…. You’ll have lots….and….lots of fun.

So we went to school.We learnt many wonderful things……School was fun…, we made many friends,Laxmi : Hi, Michelle, good morning. Good morning everybody

Good morning, Laxmi.We loved going to school.But as we grew older….. Schooling is no longer fun!We hate going to school.

Another day, another morning, (Crowing sounds)We study… study… study…..endlesslyIt’s tedious and mental torturing So many exercises to complete…..Teacher: Listen class. Answer all these questions! Ah Seng, where is your homework?

Oh….Not only that…. We have to do folios - So many folios,Then tests, tests, tests and examination.English Test, Science Test And Mathematics Test.We hate going to school.

Back from school… HURRAY !!!!At last, home again! Ahhhh……….Let’s take a rest! What!.... Rest! No way!We still have tuition classes to attend, And piles and piles of homework to complete.Life is full of stress… STRESS!!!!

Our parents expect the best from us..The perfect child.. to be proud and boast about….Endless lectures we have to bear…“Why can’t you be like this?”“Why can’t you be like that?”You must study hard……study hardBlah x2 Blah x2 Blah ..x2”Yes, we know…, we know…. they mean well.. So from morning till night,We STUDY, STUDY, STUDY!!!! Trying our best to be academically smart!But…. Hei….We’re just ordinary teenagers And we just want to have some fun!!Huh, parents and society nowadays don’t seem to understand us anymore!

(Alarm clock ringing)Erhhhh… ehhhhh! STRESS! STRESS! STRESS!I can’t take it anymore !I’m going nuts!I’m going crazy!Homework, homework .. every dayTuition classes to attend,Tests and exams every now and then.24 hours per day isn’t enough anymore. Oh , my god….… I’m exhausted!I’m going to have DEPRESSION! DEPRESSION!

Teenagers! Teenagers!Yes… we are teenagers…As teenagers, Our minds; inquisitive and creativeOur actions; unpredictable and unbelievable…We, the hope of nation,We, the future generation,We, the leaders of tomorrow.

But sadly enough,Lately, teenagers… Have made headlines in the papersCommiting suicide……

Tomorrow…. Tomorrow….There’s no tomorrow for me……..Nobody loves me, nobody wants meI want to die…Goodbye ….world….Heaven…… I’m coming.(Scream voices)jumping down from tall buildings… BOOM! Shame on you!Dumping babies…. on the streets.(Baby wailing)How could you? A cold blooded bitch!!Mat Rempit….the dare-devils racing and bullying on the roads….(Sound from the motorbikes)It’ despicable,It’s outrageous, and very heart breaking.

No, no, no, you’re wrong!We, teenagers are proud human beings….We’re innocent teenagers…..Victims of modernization.Stop whining!You have everythingYour parents care and love you…The teachers are there to teach you.Buck up,Pull yourself together, There’s a saying, ‘No pain, no gain’.

Yes! Yes! Yes!We have the power and will of steelWe have to be optimistic,To think positive and do constructive things.We have the power, we have the will power,The power to act and make our dreams come true.So my fellow teenagers,hold on to high values and beautiful dreams… and…work hard together for a better tomorrow…..free from all forms of sorrow.For we, teenagers are the hopes and leaders of tomorrow!

To the frontier, here we come.We, teenagers are the greatest assets to the nation,We will all work together, hand-in-hand,To create a better tomorrow,One voice, One hope, One Nation1Malaysia.
