International standardization: facilitating economic growth

Conclusion
In spite of its relative success, SII’s purpose is:
To expand industry participation in international
standardization in various fields, including water
technologies;
To have small-sized and medium-sized companies
participate in international standardization as well as
corporations and start-ups.
13
Conclusion
To increase the awareness of the local industry about the
benefits of standards and get the industry to finance most of
its own participation in International Standardization -
without the support of the government- within the next 5
years.
14
Tool Box - how do we make this happen?
Can we influence international standards?
Yes. The countries who are members of the
international organizations are entitled to appoint
industry representatives and participate in the
international standard development process.
15
Tool Box
Will the industry receive any assistance in
financing participation in international
standardization?
Yes! This year the Ministry of Economy and SII
are offering a joint financing plan to help
representatives of the Israeli industry who join
international activity.
16
Tool Box
Does the offer to participate in international
committee’s activity apply to big companies only?

all sizes.
