Definitions

Access Stream

The HRPD stream whose end-points are the access terminal and the

access network (radio network) This stream is used for terminalauthentication

Service Stream

The HRPD stream used when exchanging data between the AT and the

PDSN

UATI (Unicast Access Terminal Identifier)

- ID for 1x EV-DO AT

- Assigned by Network(SC/MM)

- 128-bit

But 128-bit address is never required to be sent on the access channel

and the AN can always send the short version(32-bit) of the UATI

Definitions

AN-AAA (Access Network Authentication, Authorization and Accounting)

AN entity that performs terminal authentication and authorization functionsfor AN

HRPD Session

An HRPD session refers to a shared state between the AT and the AN

This shared state stores the protocols and protocol configurations that were

negotiated and are used for communications between the AT and the AN

SC/MM (Session Control and Mobility Management)

SC/MM function is logically located in the PCF

- Storage of HRPD session related information

- Assignment of UATI- Manages the location of an AT and perform paging procedures
