10 DAYS IN DUBLIN

MUSICJULY 4- 13 2013

Page 2: 10 Days in Dublin 2013 Music Brochure

Hi, I’m Joe and I’m the Music Coordinator for this year’s 10 Days in Dublin.

I’m absolutely delighted with the music programme. I don’t think there’s a

single artist involved who isn’t doing their thing in an interesting or novel

way. I’m particularly excited about some of our acts who are stepping out of

their comfort zones to try something new. Whether it’s a new collaboration,

a new audio/visual offering or taking on an unusual space, I’ve been bowled

over by the level of innovation our acts are bringing to the festival. I’m a

huge proponent for trying new things and I think you’d be hard pressed to find

many people who have sampled everything we have on offer.

I really hope you enjoy it!

BACK & TO THE LEFT

Back & To The Left are a lively quartet of Dublin natives. The have a penchant for mixing and moulding their collective influences to create intriguing and well formed ‘rock’ songs.

Their influences range from Frank Zappa to The Blue Nile to Autechre and they have been compared to the likes of Foals.

They will be releasing their eagerly awaited debut album on the night.

A tight-knit group with a love of dynamics and texture, Ana Gog’s distinctive sound is one forged over countless performances together where their diverse influences have been distilled into a captivating whole. Moving seamlessly between the song-centred ease of folk music and the more elemental energy of post-rock, they are rightfully earning a reputation as one of Dublin’s most engaging live acts. Their debut album Making Trails, released in March 2013, reveals a band capable of making timeless, potent music, and a group of musicians who are here for the long run. ‘Music that hits you right between the ears’ - Jim Carroll
