Baroque Rome and The Vatican

You will be picked up at your ship by your English speaking driver

and tour guide who will whisk you to the heart of Rome to visit its

Baroque treasures. Starting from Piazza Navona, with the famous Fountain

of the Four Rivers by Bernini, you’ll proceed to see the Pantheon with its

huge ancient Roman dome and the grave of the great Italian artist, Raphael,

the church of St. Mary of Minerva with its marble elephant balancing an

Egyptian obelisk on its back, and the works of Caravaggio in the church of

San Luigi dei Francesi. This morning portion of your tour will take you to the

famed Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps.

After lunch at a selected trattoria, your driver and tour guide will take

you on an afternoon tour of The Vatican Museum.

The Vatican boasts some of the most recognizable ART in the world

with masterpieces by Michelangelo, Raphael, and da Vinci, as well as

some of the most tantalizing stories and MYSTERIES in history. You’ll get

more than just a fascinating tour, you’ll enjoy an interactive service with a

After the museum, you’ll visit ST. PETER’S BASILICA, the largest

Catholic church in the world, where you can visit the tombs of the Popes

including Pope John Paul II. You will also see Michelangelo’s magnificent

La Pietà and Bernini’s acclaimed Baldachino (the Pope’s altar).
