If you would like your Newsletter by e-mail please contact Mr. Gabb www.frenchayprimary.ik.org . Welcome back after the Easter break!!! We have a very short, busy Term 5. During this term all children will be involved in some form of assessment tasks. This provides part of the evidence that enables teachers to have an accurate picture of where each child is in their learning. All assessments are collated and used to inform the next steps of learning for each child and providing information to you in the school report. I monitor all Teacher Assessment to ensure all children are making appropriate progress in the core areas of learning. It is therefore important that your child is in school during this term and any holiday will be unauthorised. Thank you again to all those parents that took the time to complete the questionnaire before Easter. I hope you found the feedback informative and I look forward to meeting with you to discuss this further. Date to follow shortly. 22.05.09 End of Term 5 1.06.09 School closed for In-service training 2.06.09 Beginning of Term 6 18.07.09 Frenchay Flower Show 24.07.09 End of Term 6 Sports Day date t.b.a. 27.4.09 Stop press Little Princess Report by Natalie Sherman Frenchay school was lucky enough to experience a fantastic play acted out by M & M crew called the Little Princess! It taught a lesson to the whole school that bullying people doesn’t get anywhere. Sarah, the main character, was a kind hearted girl, always polite and spoke the truth. Becky was a scullery maid for Mrs Minchin. She was fairly small and wore rags. Mrs Minchin was a mean and stuck up teacher she liked rich people so she could get money. Ermy, who had red plaits, always got bullied by Lavinia and the other school girls. She wore school uniform. Lavina was the teacher’s pet, she was perfect in everyway and had shoulder length frizzy hair. Captain Crew was Sarah’s father, he wore a green uniform. Ram Dass was the narrator he told parts of the story. The story was about a girl called Sarah who gets sent to a horrible boarding school called ‘Miss Minchins school for girls’. Her father gets lost in action, so Sarah becomes a scullery maid. In the end Sarah and Becky go to India with Sarah’s father. To everyone who worked so hard to make our Easter afternoon special by arranging for the raffle and refreshments. From this event the PTA raised £205. Special Note Pauline Palmer our School Patrol will finish her duties at the end of this term. If you are interested in this position please contact Wendy Feltham 01454-863611. Frenchay brownies meet each Tuesday evening at the village hall at 5.40pm each week not 7.00pm as last newsletter stated. Sorry for the mistake!! During hot weather please can you ensure all children have a hat and their water bottle. Please ensure that long hair is tied back for children’s safety and to help to keep head lice to a minimum. Security - For the safety of our children when entering the school in the morning please ensure you close the door securely especially the entrances to Class 1. Should you need to come on to the school premises after school has started please report to the office. Please do not enter your child’s class as this will affect their learning and the learning of
