    WR Santonio Holmes faces a Steelers team that select-ed him 25th overall in the 2006 NFL Draft. He earnedMVP recognition for Super Bowl XLIII after recordingnine catches for 131 yards, including the game-winningtouchdown.

    In the last three weeks, the New York Jets have recorded11 sacks, the second highest in NFL during that span.The 11 sacks were recorded by nine different players,including LBs David Harris and Calvin Pace, who werethe only players to record two sacks during that stretch.

    The Jets travel the NFLs third ranked defense to Pitts-burgh to take on the Steelers and their fourth rankeddefense.     Quarterbacks (3), Returning Starter (1)Coach Matt Cavanaugh:Mark Sanchez has thrown for a career-high 2,852 yards, 16touchdowns and 12 interceptions for a passer rating of 74.2on the season. He made his 25th regular season start vs. HST

    (11/21) and completed 22-of-38 passes for 315 yards andthree touchdowns with one interception for a 100.2 passerrating. It was his second career 300-yard passing game. Asa starter, Sanchez owns a record of 17-10 during the regularseason and a 19-11 mark, including the postseason. DuringWeeks 9-11, all Jets wins, Sanchez threw for 950 yards on71-of-121 passing with six touchdowns and three intercep-tions for an 89.9 rating. His first-career 300-yard passinggame came in Week Nine at DET (11/7), when he recorded336 yards, one touchdown and one interception on 22-of-39passing. Eight touchdown passes and no interceptions dur-ing the first five games of the season, made him the young-est passer in NFL history to throw eight touchdown passeswithout an interception. Veteran Mark Brunell signed withthe Jets as a free agent (7/28/10). Coming off a Super Bowlvictory with NO last season, the three-time Pro Bowler entershis 18th NFL season and has thrown for 31,928 yards and182 touchdowns and rushed for 2,421 yards and 15 touch-downs.     Both considered by Head Coach Rex Ryan as starters, run-ning backs LaDainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene form a1-2 punch that has enabled the Jets to rank fifth in the NFLin rushing yards per game. Tomlinson leads the team with837 yards and five rushing touchdowns on 195 carries. Herecorded 133 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries atBUF (10/3), his first 100-yard effort since 10/26/08 at NO(19-105). His 49 receptions also lead the club. Second-yearrunner Greene has rushed for 656 yards and one touchdownon 161 carries. Three-time Pro Bowl fullback Tony Richard-son has helped his teams rush for 20-or-more touchdownsin seven of the past eight seasons, including league-highs in2002 (KC), 2003 (KC), 2004 (KC) and 2007 (KC). Selected

    by the Jets in the fifth round from Kentucky, rookie fullbackJohn Conner sees action as a key reserve on offense and onspecial teams.     Returning veteransJerricho Cotchery, Braylon Edwards andBrad Smith have been joined by Super Bowl XLIII MVP San-tonio Holmes who made his New York Jets debut in vs. MIN(10/11). Edwards leads Jets in touchdowns (6), receiving

    yards (674) and yards per reception (17.7). Four of his sixtouchdowns receptions have occurred on plays of 30 yardsor longer. Cotchery, who has led the team in receiving theprevious three seasons, has recorded 36 receptions for 393yards. He missed games vs. HST (11/21) and CIN (11/25)

    due to an injury. Smith has caught four pass for 44 yardsand rushed for 219 yards and a touchdown on 30 carriesVs. CIN (11/25), he recorded the Jets longest run of theseason, a 53-yard touchdown, and scored on an 89-yardkickoff return. He threw the first touchdown pass of his career at BUF (10/3), a three-yard toss to TE Dustin KellerSmith has scored his seven career touchdowns in five dif-ferent ways (reception (2), rushing (2), kickoff return (2)blocked punt return and a pass). He is the only player in themodern football era (since 1933) to have scored touchdownsvia: receiving, rushing, kickoff return, blocked punt return inaddition to throwing a TD pass. Holmes has 41 catches fo620 yards and four touchdowns for the season, recordingtwo 100-yard contests, totalling 114 yards at DET (11/7and 126 vs. HST (11/21). In four Jets wins, Holmes has registered the games key play. At DEN (10/17), Holmes drewa 46-yard penalty with 1:26 remaining to set up the finatouchdown in the 24-20 victory. At DET (11/7), Holmes hada 52-yard catch in overtime set up a game-winning field goain a 23-20 win. In CLV (11/14) he notched a game-winning37-yard touchdown with 16 seconds remaining in overtimefor the 26-20 victory. Vs. HST (11/21) he caught the gamewinning six-yard touchdown pass with 10 seconds remainingin regulation.

    Tight Ends (4), Returning Starter (1)

    Coach Mike Devlin:Third-year TE Dustin Keller ranks second on the team intouchdowns (5) and receptions (45), while his 589 yardsrank third on the club. Ben Hartsock helps key the rushing attack. Matthew Mulligan has seen action in ten gamesmaking a start in the season opener vs. BLT (9/13) and playsprimarily on special teams. Undrafted rookie free agentJefCumberland has been inactive for every game this season.

    Offensive Line (8), Returning Starters (4)Coach Bill Callahan:

    Four of the five starters return for their third consecutiveseason for an offensive line that has helped the 2010 Jetsaverage 148.4 yards per game, fourth best in the NFL. T Wayne Hunter missedtwo games (MIA 9/26 and BUF 10/3) due to a shin injury,but returned to action vs. MIN (10/11). He is expected tostart at right tackle if Woody is inactive.     Defensive Line (7), Returning Starters (2)Coach Mark Carrier:The front has helped hold opposing rushing attacks to 3.4yards per carry, which stands second-best in the NFL. Thisgroup is led by two-time Pro Bowl defensive endShaun Ellis,whose 72.5 career sacks rank third all-time in team history.On the season, Ellis has recorded a team-high 4.5 sacks anda forced fumble. Mike DeVito has earned eight starts follow-ing the loss of Kris Jenkins and has recorded 37 tackles.Sione Pouha has started every game (twelve at NT and oneat DT), moving over the center to replace the injured Jenkinsand leads all Jets defensive linemen with 43 tackles and has

    recovered a team-high three fumbles and two sacks. Versa-tile defensive lineman Vernon Gholston earns snaps on theline and at linebacker, started in the victory at DET (11/7)and has seen action in every game this season. The win was the Jetsthird over the Steelers in 18 games. The Jets scored first on a four-play, 68-yard drive highlighted by a 56-yard flea-flicker pass from QB Kellen Clemensto WR Laveranues Coles. The 56-yard strike put the Jets on the Pittsburgh 1-yard line to set up a Clemens 1-yard touchdown pass to TE Chris Baker forthe 7-0 lead. Four drives later, K Mike Nugent added another three points to the Jets score as he connected on a 25-yard field goal to end the first quarterJets 10-0. The Steelers answered on the following drive at the start of the second quarter as QB Ben Roethlisberger capped the 8-play, 72-yard drive witha 7-yard touchdown pass to WR Santonio Holmes for the 7-10 score. On the Steelers next drive Jets S Kerry Rhodes intercepted a Roethlisberger passintended for WR Nate Washington for a gain of two yards. The interception is his second of the season - tied for the team lead - and seventh of his career

    The Jets capitalized on the ensuing drive as Nugent ended the first half as he nailed a 19-yard field goal for the 13-7 lead. At the start of the first quarte

    the Steelers drive moved down the field to the Jets 17-yard line. On third-and-15 DE Shaun Ellis and DT C.J. Mosley shared a sack of Roethlisberger andthe Steelers were forced to kick.     Reed connected on a 33-yard field goal in the Steelers final drive of the third quarter to tie the game, 13-13. Jets RB Thomas Jones took the Jets into thefourth quarter as he carried the ball six times for 32 yards. Jones rushed for 117 yards on 30 carries in the game. He is the first runner to rush for morethan 100 yards against the Steelers defense in 34 games, including the postseason, since the Colts Edgerrin James rushed for 124 yards on 29 carries(11/28/05 at Indianapolis). In the fourth quarter both Reed and Nugent connected on field goals of 48 and 28 yards respectively to send the game intoovertime.

    Jets CB Darrelle Revis grew up in Aliquippa, PA, just 20 miles outside of Pittsburgh and played at Aliquippa High Schoolbefore attending the University of Pittsburgh.

    While in high school, Revis played quarterback, defensive back, wide receiver, cornerback and kick returner. He compiled1,637 total yards and 13 touchdowns, averaging 15.4 yards per touch as a senior. His performance led to Associated PressPennsylvania Class AA Player of the Year honors and a first-team selection to the Pennsylvania Class AA All-State team.

    He also played basketball at Aliquippa, averaging 22.8 points per game as a senior, earning Associated Press PennsylvaniaClass AA All-State first-team honors and a selection to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazettes Fabulous Five.

    While at the University of Pittsburgh, Revis was a semifinalist for the 2006 Jim Thorpe Award for the nations top defensiveback.

    His 73-yard punt return against West Virginia was selected the 2006 College Football Play of the Year by ESPN. On theplay, Revis fielded the punt on a bounce, cut all the way across the field and then weaved through several potential tacklersup the sideline to reach the end zone.

    He became the first Pittsburgh cornerback to be selected first-team All-Conference twice since former Jet and Steeler HankPoteat accomplished the feat in 1998 and 1999.

    As a junior, became the first player in Pittsburgh history to return an interception for a touchdown in consecutive games.

    Jets LB Jason Taylor was born in Pittsburgh, PA and played at Woodland Hills High School in Pittsburgh.
