Overview Parker Hannifin’s Filtration trolley allows you to transfer, condition monitor and filter fluid, whilst reporting contamination levels using the icountPD product The 10MFP Filtration Trolley measures particle contamination continuously and updates the results to the output display on the icountPD.

Exclusion of LiabilityParker has made every endeavour to ensure the accuracy of the content of this document, however errors cannot be ruled out. Consequently, we accept no liability for such errors as may exist or for any damage or loss whatsoever which may arise as a result of such errors.

Technical specifications are subject to change without notice.

Conditions for safe useWARNING : When using electric tools, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock and personal injury.

To ensure compliance with the certification, users are NOT permitted to open the unit’s electrical or icountPD source under any circumstances. Doing so will invalidate the unit’s calibration and it would NOT be suitable for calibrated use.

Safety InformationPlease read and understand the Operating Instructions before using the equipment

This filtration trolley weighs approximately 62kg (137 lbs). Two persons are required to lift the trolley – one either side of the trolley gripping the handle and the trolley base.

Before operating the Filtration trolley ensure all electrical connections, hoses and fittings are securely fitted to the appropriate standards. Check all hoses and fittings for wear and or damage. If replacements are required, please contact your local Parker Hannifin representative.

Do NOT use or store this product in wet or damp environmental conditions.

Best practice mounting orientation is to have the unit placed on a stable surface with easy access to the power switch and icountPD screen. The Filtration cart is designed for use in dry, indoor environments. There is no need to hold the trolley, but you may need to hold or secure the hose / wand assembly during operation.

DO NOT attempt to move the trolley when in use. Do not remove the hose / wand assembly when in use.

CAUTION: High pressure oil systems can be a hazard to life and limb.

Dangers of maloperation or mishandlingIn case of maloperation, mishandling or abuse, as well as in cases ignoring the application limits and safety regulations, the following threats can occur:

General Danger / Operator Injury

Possible Equipment Damage when incorrectly connected to machines / systems or component devices.

Symbol glossaryThe following symbols are used in this manual.

Warning Warning notices are used in this publication to emphasize that hazardous voltages, currents, temperatures, or other conditions that could cause personal injury exist in this equipment or may be associated with its use.

A Warning notice is used in situations where inattention or misuse could cause personal injury.

CautionA Caution notice is used in situations where inattention or misuse could cause damage to the equipment. If the equipment is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the protection/performance may be impaired.

CheckNotes merely call attention to information that is especially significant to understanding and operating the equipment. You may need to check the orientation or tightness of connections, for example.

Safety equipmentSome operations require special attention to safety, such as the use of safety glasses.

Service/RepairAny servicing or repair work must be carried out by a Parker-approved service centre.

Warning A red band around a picture or instruction is used to emphasize that particular care is required to avoid the danger of personal injury or other hazard.

CautionA yellow band around a picture or instruction is used to emphasize that particular care is required in carrying out the instruction. Examples are checking that plugs are ‘keyed’ (i.e. correctly polarized) before they are fully inserted, or that hoses are fitted carefully so they do not leak.

Parker recommend placing the 10MFP on a stable surface with easy access to the power switch and icountPD screen. The Filtration cart should not be used in wet or very humid environments.

Electrical connectionsThe Parker supplied power cables can only be used with the 10MFP products.

UK plug (230V~, 5A fuse *)

EUR plug 110VAC Industrial plug

CAUTION: Only use the Parker-supplied Power Supply Cable. It is the responsibility of the end-user to ensure that the cables are connected and stored correctly to avoid any damage. Keep the power cord away from heat and sharp edges. Never yank the cable from the power socket. The use of any accessory or attachment other than recommended in this instruction leaflet may result in product damage or personal injury.

Connecting/Disconnecting

1 2

Ensure the panel power switch is in the OFF position.

Connect electrical mains socket to trolley and lower the anti-yank wire clip. Connect mains

plug to mains socket.

3Ensure hydraulic

connections are made before starting unit.

4

Turn overload switch ON.

5To remove electrical

connections, switch off at trolley and mains supply and disconnect power

cable.

6

Turn panel switch ON.

Product operation

1

Insert suction hose into the container for the fluid under

test.

2

Ensure the trolley is on a flat, stable surface and in dry conditions.

Secure hoses if necessary, to avoid leakage/spray.

3 4

Insert pressure hose into waste fluid container.

5

See Electrical Connections set up (pages 7–8)

6

Turn overload switch ON.

7

Turn panel switch ON.

Parker recommend that you position the trolley in a safe stable area, as close as possible to the system output, using only the hose assemblies provided.

NOTE: The correct hydraulic connection fittings have been supplied with this Filtration trolley and correct safety standards must be applied when using them.

CAUTION: Make sure that the hose is not kinked.

Parker Hannif in Manufacturing (UK) Ltd10

Allow 30–60 seconds for filters to fill after starting

trolley system

8 9

For very viscous fluids it may be necessary to put 1–2 litres of oil into the inlet filter to prime

the pump.

WARNING: The outlet filter bypass spring acts as a relief valve for the pump. DO NOT restrict the discharge hose with a shut off valve. This will cause excessive pressures in the product which may be harmful to personnel or your equipment.

9 bk

A visual indicator monitors the condition of the filters and indicates CLEAN, CHANGE or BYPASS.

Turn panel switch OFF when the specified fluid condition is met.

bl

Turn the overload switch OFF.

Maintenance

1

See Electrical Connections set up (pages 7–8)

2

Ensure the trolley is on a flat, stable surface and in dry conditions.

Remove the suction and pressure hoses from fluid containers and place in trolley.

CAUTION: The trolley may contain oil. Care must be taken when removing hoses and the correct safety and disposal methods used.

3 4

Loosen the bolts on the filter cover using a ½” socket set.

Twist the cover to free the bolts…

5 6

… and lift off. Inspect the cover O-ring and replace if damaged or worn.

Pull filter element assembly from housing.

Caution – Wear appropriate protection if testing hydraulic fluids.

7 8

Replace the filter media.

Wire mesh elements can be ultrasonically cleaned (contact Parker for advice).

Install new elements and replace filter O-ring.

Caution – Ensure O-ring is seated correctly before fitting filter cover.

Parker Hannif in Manufacturing (UK) Ltd12

GB

9 bk

Check the notch of the element and cap are aligned.

Replace the cover. Ensure washers are free of cover and twist to close.

bl bm

Wipe traces of oil from trolley with paper or cloth and dispose

in an appropriate manner.

Do not wet parts that could penetrate the motor, electrical

unit or icountPD.

Tighten the bolts.
