HERO MOTOCORP UNVEILS NEW BRAND
Announcing its new brand identity, Indias largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp(formerly Hero Honda) on Tuesday said it will set up two new manufacturing plants in thecountry and will pump in more investments in the next five years than it has done in the last 27years with Honda. The company, which introduced two new products under its new brand,said it will soon tie up with a European firm for technology support for its future product

AIR INDIA CRISIS: ARVIND JADHAV READY TO FACE THE WORST
With moves reportedly being made for his ouster, Air India CMD Arvind Jadhav is said to beprepared to face the worst. Sources close to him said that since his appointment was done bythe Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), it was government's prerogative to retainor remove him from the post before his three-year tenure ends on May 4 next year. ThoughCivil Aviation Ministry officials denied having made any move for removing him, 55-yearold Jadhav is facing criticism for the grave financial crisis facing Air India.

HINDUSTAN MOTORS LAUNCHES NEW VEHICLE
Hindustan Motors launched VEER, a 0.8-tonne (800 kg) small commercial vehicle (SCV) inKolkata on Monday saying that more launches are in the pipeline within this fiscal year. Achange in the product mix is also being planned. While these vehicles are set to be made fromthe Pithampur unit, it was learnt that some launches from the Chennai unit were also on thecards by March 2012. Source: The Hindu

SUBBARAO GETS TWO-YEAR EXTENSION
The Reserve Bank of India Governor, Dr D. Subbarao, has got a two-year extension. He willcontinue to hold office till 2013. The Prime Minister has approved the extension of the term ofDr D. Subbarao as Governor of the Reserve Bank of India for a further period of two years with

GOLD FUTURES TOUCHES ALL-TIME HIGH
Continuing its record-breaking spree, gold futures prices hit yet another high of Rs 26,198 per10 grams today by adding Rs 956 as speculators created fresh positions after the metal zoomedpast $1,700 an ounce for the first time ever in history in the global markets. At the MultiCommodity Exchange, gold for delivery in October climbed Rs 956 to trade at an all-time highof Rs 26,198 per 10 grams with a business turnover of 29,258 lots. RATAN TATA SUCCESSOR TO BE ANNOUNCED BY YEAR END
