Business Letter is a formal letter which is Sent from one person or organization to another about a business matter or situation

Personal LettersPersonal Letter is an informal letter which is Sent to friends or relatives about a personal matter.

The Heading• The heading of the letter should contain

the return address but not your namebut not your name, which includes the street address on one line, followed by the city, state, and zip code on the next line. The last line is the date.

• It is not necessary to type the return address if you are using Letterhead.

The Heading• Sometimes it may be necessary to

include a line after the address and before the date for a phone number, fax number, e-mail address, or something similar.

Copy Notation• Copy notation should be shown a double space

The Salutation• The salutation usually means “hello”. Usually all the words

that are part of the greeting, are capitalized. A commacomma in friendly letter or a coloncolon in business letter follows the greeting.
