A special thank you to all veterans for their service to our country. School will resume on Tuesday, November 12th at 8:10 am. We are in the midst of conference week which means we are on a minimum day schedule all week. Our Book Fair will also be open today and tomorrow from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm. Thank you to all of the parent volunteers working with our amazing librarian Donna Campell to make the Book Fair run smoothly. Thank you to the members of the Bulldog Robotics Team for all of their work to help keep Van Meter students and community members safe on their way to and from school. I held a meeting with some of the team members yesterday to discuss their project that is aimed at making our roads and crosswalks safer for all. Thank you for all of your hard work and great ideas to help keep us safe. This is a great time to remind everyone to abide by the rules of the road and keep an eye out for pedestrians on your way to and from Van Meter. Leave the house a few minutes earlier to avoid the stress and anxiety of last-minute traffic leading up to the beginning of our school day. Left over Halloween candy tormenting you? Local dentists have provided a drop box for extra candy in the Van Meter front office. They will donate it to our local fire stations and the police department. Please bring in candy donations by next Tuesday, November 12th. Rick Rauscher Principal-Louise Van Meter Elementary School Los Gatos Union School District (408) 335-2280
