Description of NPPO (China)

Description of NPPO

In china, three administrative organizations are responsible for the phytosanitary issues, i.e. Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine(AQSIQ) and State Forestry Administration(SFA).

The Crop Production Department in MOA, the Department for Supervision on Animal and Plant Quarantine in AQSIQ, and the Department of Afforestation in SFA are NPPOs in China.

Description of NPPO MOA is responsible for IPPC issue, domestic

agricultural quarantine affairs, quarantine legislation etc.

SFA is responsible for the internal forestry quarantine affairs

AQSIQ is responsible for the Entry-Exit inspection and quarantine affairs.

The national plant protection organization contact points (NPPO contact points) in MOA will strengthen the cooperation among related administrative department and exchange the information with the IPPC secretary.
