Heaven to Home WHAT WE LEARNED TODAY Dear Parents: Our Memory Verse this week: “We love because He first loved us.” I John 4:19 Today we discovered: ! God is love, and He first loved us. ! All that we are, and do is based on being in love with our Father. ! Our relationship with God is a love relationship. Parent’s Points to Ponder: Ask Your Child: What was put into the Backpack? (it was a Valentine card). What are the names of the two women whose house Jesus went to? (We learned about Mary and Martha). Why did Jesus say Mary chose the right thing? (Mary wanted to be with Jesus and hear His voice) Soaking Time: We can be just like Mary and “sit” at the feet of Jesus and “soak” in God’s presence. He desires, appreciates, and receives our love. During this time be sure to encourage your child to thank God for His goodness and for loving us, even before He made us. Home Activity: Create a “Valentine’s” card with your child. Have fun decorating the card. Then write a short rhyme or poem about what God showed them, while soaking, on the inside of the card. You might want to make it large and leave room to add “Thank You’s” to the card during the week. Post the card on “Heaven’s Window” bulletin board. When our children discover just how much the Father loves them, even before they were born, their hearts will be drawn ever so close to Him. Their desire for intimacy will grow when they realize that Papa God is not angry or upset, but rather He is full of goodness, kindness and is inviting. It is this love relationship that will build the foundations of their identity and purpose to fulfill their Royal Mission and destiny. 8 KIDS CARRYING THE KINGDOM VOLUME 2 LESSON 18 A Parent’s Blessing: ( Your child’s name ), I call your spirit to bear witness and agree with the words in I John 4:19, “We love because He first loved us.” ( Your child’s name ), I bless you to be able to respond and receive the heighth, depth, and width of the Father’s great love for you. I bless your ability to grow in affection, desire, hunger, and passion for more of your Papa God. I pray that you will continually walk in the revelation of a child who was loved before the beginning of time. I bless you in the fulness and richness of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
