Jo and Ken are required for Buki Waza classes.
Hakama may be worn by Dan grades only.

Paolo N. Corallini began his lifelong pursuit of Aikido in late
‘60under Motokage Kawamukai Sensei, Hirokazu Kobayashi Sensei and
André Nocquet Sensei, who in 1981appointed him as President and
Technical Director of The Unione Italiana Aikido -division of the
Union Européenne d’Aikido in Italy. Since he wantedto meet Morihiro
Saito Sensei and visit the dojo where the Foundercreated and
defined Aikido, in 1984 Corallini went to Iwama.That is when the
enchanting meeting with Morihiro Saito Sensei happened. Paolo
Corallini immediately realised that the training method follows the
traditional system of practice of the Founder and from that moment
he decided to follow Morihiro Saito devotedly.
In 1988 Saito Sensei granted him the 5th dan Takemusu Aikido and
also the 5 Buki Waza Mokuroku, as well as the authorization to
grant Tai-Jutsu and Buki Waza dan. Saito Sensei also appointed him
as his Representative in Central and Southern Europe. In March 1993
Saito Sensei promoted Paolo Corallini to 6th dan and awarded him
the Shihan title in Iwama. Subsequently, he was granted the 6th dan
Aikikai. Morihiro Saito Sensei awarded his representatives Paolo
Corallini and Ulf Evenås 7th Dan Iwama Ryu on 25th May 2001.
In 2006 Paolo N. Corallini together with Ulf Evenås founded the
Takemusu Aikido Kyokai (T.A.K.).On January 9th 2011 Doshu Moriteru
Ueshiba awards Corallini Shihan with the 7th Dan Aikikai Tokyo, in
recognition of the previous Iwama Ryu rank. Corallini Shihan is
Iwama Ryu Dai Senpai (highest Iwama Ryu rank in the world) and the
sole 7th Dan Aikikai in Italy.
