The children in the Junior school have been studying living and non-living things. JJ and JT have conducted an experiment with bread. We have discovered that mould is a living thing, because it can grow.
Howdy Bonbeach Bookworms! Well this week has been full of achievements! With a full 40 books devoured, Miss Asha Brimelow joins the ranks of Victorian Premiership Reading Challengers, Congratulations Asha! Mr Mika Faid get a round of applause for completing his 15 books, take a bow Mika! And for completing 100 books, Maria Mekail, congratulations on reaching a momentous milestone! Bravo! Reading together can often be an activity that might easily be dropped off the priority list when there are so many things to do after school and over the weekends. However, reading and recognition of reading as being important, from parents and care givers is vital for students to get the most out of many (all) areas of education. Just as we need 'downtime' so do we need to read. When do you fit reading into your hectic schedule? I'd love to share your tips here. "When I'm cooking dinner, my grade 3 student sits at the bench and reads to me." "I try not to make TV a reward for reading, so instead of giving TV time after reading, we use the add breaks to read a page or two. Sometimes we don't realise the show has started again!" Happy sharing Miss Thomas
The School Production Committee is looking for a small donation of clean white men’s business shirts. Please hand any into the Office for Sharon to collect. Thanks Kellie Batson

KUMON CHELSEA
EDUCATION CENTRE, 5 Blantyre Avenue, Chelsea, 3196
Our goal is to make
“every student studying beyond grade level”
in the subjects of Math (arithmetics, fractions, algebra)
and English (grammar, spelling, reading comprehension).
Call the Instructor Lena Gvirtsman on 0402 065 154 for an appointment.
I will explain the benefits of Kumon method
and test your children in Maths and/or English.
It is free.
I am also offering 2 weeks free trial. Then you can decide if that's what your children need.
As the weather is getting colder. Please remind your children to bring their coats/jumpers to after school care, as we still play outside when it's cold. If your child is booked in to after school care and for whatever reason you decide that they will not be attending on that day, please call and let our team know. If you need care and have not booked into Camp Australia directly, you can just come in the morning and we will add your child to the roster. If care is needed for the afternoon, just give us a call and we will add your child to our roster. We are here to help and support you. Sheila Whyte
Once a week, take a peek!
Families please check your child’s hair for Head Lice each Sunday before they return to school. Please treat immediately if an infestation is found. The incidence of head lice would reduce significantly if this quick check was undertaken weekly.
