Portugal Walking in Madeira (TSD) The beautiful volcanic island of Madeira is criss- crossed with flower-lined levadas (irrigation channels) whose banks provide easy access into the lush countryside on foot. The rich soil and mild climate has enabled a wide variety of exotic plants to flourish, which in turn attract colourful butterflies and birds. There are dramatic views of the Atlantic Ocean wherever you go, especially from the vantage point of the Pico Ruivo (1862m), the island’s highest peak. Staying in hotels and pensions, you’ll spend each day exploring a different part of the island on a series of day walks with plenty of relaxation time too. 8 days from £629 including flights Walks are graded as ‘Moderate’ Morocco Atlas Panorama (TMP) The small village of Tijhza, tucked in the heart of the Atlas Mountains, provides the perfect base from which to embark on a series of walks. Staying in a traditional gîte, your leader will take you out on foot each day. During your treks, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the mountains stretching out as far as the eye can see. You will also visit the crumbling yet still impressive kasbah at Telouet with its intricate mosaics and ironwork. No trip to Morocco would be complete without spending some time in bustling Marrakech so there is also plenty of time allowed to explore its maze of souks and back streets and perhaps to get steamed in a traditional hammam! 8 days from £619 including flights Walks are graded as ‘Moderate’ Morocco Mt Toubkal Long Weekend (TMY) An energetic long weekend which includes a summit attempt on North Africa’s highest peak – Mt Toubkal (4167m). With three days in the mountains you will quickly leave daily life behind and replace it with a world of sleepy Berber villages, mountain views and some great trekking. Mainly using mule paths, you’ll trek up to Base Camp at Neltner where you stay the night before starting your ascent early the following morning. The climb to the top is well worth the effort; from the summit you are rewarded with stunning views as far as the Sahara Desert. We’ll aim to have a late lunch back at Neltner before continuing down to Arroumd. The following day there’s time to explore the bustling streets of Marrakech. 5 days from £549 including flights* Walks are graded as ‘Challenging’
