Gas Well Deliquification Workshop Mission

To provide a forum for gas well operators, and those related to operations, for the exchange of information related to economic deliquification of liquid loaded gas wells. To provide a forum to learn of new techniques, equipment, and products related to deliquification of gas wells. Deliquification here is meant to indicate methods of removing restrictions to gas flow caused by liquids accumulating in the gas production stream.

Removal of the liquids results in lower producing bottom hole pressure with a corresponding increase in both gas production and subsequent gas reserves.

Gas Well Deliquification Workshop Vision

The information exchanged in the forum will lead to new and better operational techniques and will help identify the need for new products and services for the operation of gas wells with liquid loading problems.

This will lead to increased success for both the gas well operators and suppliers of products and equipment.

General ChairmanJason Carmichael is a Senior Production Engineer in Anadarko Petroleum Corporation’s Global Engineering and Technology organization. With 11 years of industry experience, Jason has held a variety of technology related roles in the areas of Gas-To-Liquids facility engineering and upstream E&P information and engineering technology. Currently Jason project manages technology efforts related to production chemical program optimization and integrated production optimization. Jason graduated from

Colorado School of Mines in 1998 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and in 2011 earned an M.B.A. from the University of Denver.

Brian Ellithorp - Devon Energy Brian graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Oklahoma State University in 2004 and immediately joined Chesapeake initially working assets focusing on completions and production in the Anadarko Basin, Northern Mid-Continent, Arkoma Basin, and Fayetteville Shale. He joined Chesapeake’s Engineering Technology Group in 2009 where he served as Engineering Advisor – Well Optimization allowing him to focus on horizontal well deliquification, failure reduction programs, production optimization, and new artificial lift technologies. In February 2013 Brian joined Devon’s Engineering Technology team in the Engineering and Strategic Services branch of the company to serve as an advisor and resource for all forms of artificial lift.

Keynote SpeakerChristopher L. Valdez, Piceance Basin Asset Manager, Encana Chris Valdez has served in various operational and marketing roles at Encana since joining the company in 2005. He currently serves as the Piceance Basin Asset Manager. In this role Chris is accountable for field development and production engineering. Prior to joining the Piceance team in the fall of 2012, he was Director of Fundamentals & Risk Management where he was responsible for ensuring that Encana’s Executive Team and Board of Directors were well informed on key market fundamentals and managing the company’s hedging activity. Chris holds an MBA from the University of Denver, Daniels College of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
