Syllabus for Math 123c Summer 8:00-12 MTuTh NEA 229Instructor: Frank Ma Office: NEA 229 or 283 Phone: 310-233-4503 e-mail: [email protected]: Math 123c PPT (Sum/13)Holidays: 7/4Hourly Test Dates: 6/24, 7/1, 7/8, 7/15, 7/22 (8 am – 9 am)Final Test Date: 7/25 (8–10 am) This is the last part of the mathematics 123abc sequence. We cover most of the topics in the PPT notes. The homework and some topics that are not in the notes will be distributed in class. Homework is assigned daily and extra problems may be given in class. All tests are based on the homework. There are five hourly tests and each hourly test is worth 100 points. The worst hourly test is dropped. Hourly tests may contain review problems from previous tests. The final is worth 200 points. Grades are determined by the test scores. There is NO make-up test. Missing tests are treated as 0. There are total of 600 points (4*100 + 200). Grades are assigned according to the points accumulated based on the standard scale: 90% 540 pt A80% 480 pt B70% 420 pt C60% 360 pt D
