ST. REGIS STEWARDSHIP CORNER In today’s gospel reading Jesus tells his followers to have no fear. The claim that whatever is covered up will be uncovered and secrets made known arises from the power of the gospel, in which the disciples participate through the means of their mission. Their simplicity, vulnerabil-ity, and dependence on God demonstrate the reality of God’s presence and character in the face of the world’s claims to possess real power. Even though proclaiming the gospel will bring suffering, the gospel must be pro-claimed “in the light” and “on the housetops” (Mt 10:27), for the gospel proclaimed and lived is the most powerful tool at the disciples’ disposal against fear. Reflect this week on how you might use the Bible to confront what-ever fears you may have and how your proclamation of the gospel can calm the fears of others.

LUAU/AUCTION As you may know, our Luau/Auction is our largest annu-al fundraiser providing over $200,000 for scholar sup-port. The blessing of this gift allows us to support over 50% of our scholars with tuition assistance grants. With this in mind, I am pleased to announce that this year’s annual Luau/Auction will be online. While I too yearn for the fellowship from our community, I am thankful that we still have the means by which we can join to-gether to support our scholars while keeping everyone safe at home. We hope you will join us!

LITURGICAL MINISTER SCHEDULE The Liturgical Minister Schedule for July and Au-gust has been emailed out to Lectors, Euchar istic Ministers, Servers and Greeters. A hard copy of the schedule is available on the table in the Gathering Space. If you have any questions about the sched-ule, please call Colleen in the Parish Office. If you have a conflict with a particular weekend you are scheduled for a ministry, we ask that you please find a substitute. Thank you for serving our parish through theses ministries.

UPDATE ON THE PARKING LOT/PLAY GROUND CAMPAIGN We are seven months into our campaign, and we have raised $74,000 so far. WOW! Thanks to your generosity we are ¾ of the way to the goal of $100,000 for the parking lot phase. Ideally if we can reach the phase one goal in the next 2 months, we could go ahead with the renovation in late summer. With 141 spaces in the parking lot, that is about $730 a space. If you would like to help us meet the goal, by August 1st, consider donating. You can use the yellow envelope that is in your monthly envelope package. The second phase includes updating the playground. We are anticipat-ing phase two to be about $50,000. Please contribute gen-erously!

Goal $100,000 $74,000

SPIRITUAL ADOPTION Month 9: Congratulation, I am here! As you know though, my birth was not the beginning of my life. My life began nine months ago when my parents contributed their love to each other to form this unique human being. At that miraculous moment I also received my soul from God making me an immortal being. God’s plan for me is to live my life on earth then join Him in my heavenly home forever. Thank you on behalf of all babies and their mothers for your loving prayers that helped to bring us to birth “so that they might have life and have it to the full!” John 10:10

If you have a table, in good condi-tion, that you might be getting rid of extra or come across a reasonably priced option, please let her know by email-ing [email protected]

RACHEL’S VINYARD - KANSAS CITY There are many post-abortive women and men in our churches today who live in silent torment. They are slow-ly self-destructing. They believe that if their friends knew what they had done they would be rejected and con-demned. Yet, Jesus’ heart is moved and He has pity upon them as they suffer in pain and grief. If you or someone you know is suffering from an abortion decision, dis-cover Jesus’ merciful heart which brings peace and com-fort. Rachel’s Vineyard retreats are all about healing the pain of abortion one weekend at a time. The second of three 2020 Kansas City retreats will be hosted on July 24-26. Please call (816) 679-4973 or email [email protected] for confidential information and to start the healing.
