It is our privilege to testify of the reality of Jesus Christ and His Restored Church. Indeed, like the Apostle Paul, Ammon, or Wilford Woodruff, as commissioned ministers of the Master, that is our missionary purpose--that is our raison d'être (reason for being) at this point in our lives. Dear missionaries, please understand the incredible power of your position-- of your testimony. Don't live below your privilege! Try to comprehend the power of your testimony. In a court of law, the testimony of someone dying carries additional weight because of the perception that no one would lie when they are about to meet their Maker. In that spirit, let me share the testimony of Christ offered by Elder Boyd K. Packer a short time before his death: "There are some things just too sacred to discuss... it is not that they are secret, but they are sacred; not to be discussed but to be harbored and to be protected and regarded with the deepest reverence... I declare to you that I know that Jesus is the Christ. I know that He lives. He was born in the meridian of time. He taught His gospel, was tried, was crucified. He rose on the third day. He was the first fruits of the resurrection. He has a body of flesh and bones. Of this I bear testimony. Of Him I am a witness. After all of the years that I have lived and taught and served, after the millions of miles I have traveled around the world, with all that I have experienced, there is one great truth that I would share. That is my witness of the Savior Jesus Christ ... 'this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of Him: that He lives! For we saw Him'... (D&C 76:22-23)… their words are my words. I testify... with absolute certainty, that He is the Only Begotten of the Father. This is His Church; He presides over it and directs this work.. I know Him. Of this I testify in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen." What a powerful FINAL testimony by Elder Packer. I felt the Spirit merely reading and reflecting these few words. I add my witness to this valiant apostle, who came before, of the living reality of Him whose birth we celebrate this Christmas season.

Compassion vs. Indifference

Message From Hermana Dayton

13 de Diciembre de 2015El Clarín de El Faro

Compassion is investing whatever is necessary to heal the hurts of others. It is a genuine concern for someone besides yourself.

In 1 Peter 3:8-9 we read, "Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing: knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing."

The greatest example of compassion is the Savior. In Mosiah 15:9 Isaiah speaks of Christ saying, "Having ascended into heaven, having the bowels of mercy; being filled with compassion towards the children of men". Christ continually showed love and compassion to all people.

I will always remember how compassionate the people in my ward and community were following my husband's death. I strongly believe that because of the love and compassion they extended to our family at such a difficult time, we were able to heal and move on with our lives. There are so many people who are hurting because of broken relationships, family members who are struggling, illness, accidents, etc. There are opportunities every day to show compassion to those around us.

There are many ways we can be compassionate as missionaries:

--Realizing your companion's needs for love and attention and then planning to meet those needs.--Listening to your companion's ideas with an open mind, always showing respect.--Seeking to understand the struggles your investigators have--Willing to give up activities that could disappoint or hurt another person--Looking for ways to do good to all people

We sincerely hope this Christmas Season is filled with joy as you love and are compassionate with those you interact with. We love you dearly and pray for you daily as you strive to serve the Savior.

All our Love--

Hermana Dayton

Manuela was baptized!!! It

was truly incredible with everything running smoothly and beautifully. Right after she was baptized and we went to go get her changed, she told us "soy nueva Manuela". She said that as she came out of the water, she was filled with so much warmth. She had a lot of family and friends come to support her in this important decision in her life, which was definitely a

huge blessing. It has been amazing to see how her story of joining the Church has played out.

We had the baptism of Janica on Saturday, that was a huge miracle. On Monday we went to his member-friend´s house to teach him and to see how the situation was, as he has come a few times before to church and he said he wanted to be baptized that weekend! We were shocked, and just to be sure, we prayed, and he offered the prayer and is was so spiritual that he knew he needed to be baptized on that Saturday, so we met with him every day to teach him everything and when Saturday came he was baptized.

John and Pintsel got baptized. They were both miracles. I met John my very first night when we didn't even have a clue what part of the city was our area, so we just started contacting the whole world in the whole city. AND we found John! He told us he had met missionaries years before but that they had only spoken Spanish and so they couldn't communicate. Anyway, the next day we go to call him and his number was already in the phone!!! Our first night, with no direction except the spirit and we found John. Anyway, in the beginning he was really skeptical, but when he started reading the Book of Mormon his whole disposition changed. And he truly started to progress. I know the Book of Mormon changes lives. And Pintsel. We met him at church. He just was coming on his own and one day when we were finally able to go to church we met him and got his info. We met with him I the church and he told us he loved he church and that he felt something special here and he knew it was the right place. He Has SO MUCH FAITH, he lives in a pueblo 30 minutes away in bus! and has walked to church every day to meet with us and and arrived 3 hours early to

the baptism to ask some really sweet sincere questions. He will be a faithful member.

The most beautiful miracle of the week was my best friend Augustina got baptized and she got baptized on her 18th birthday! She has one of the most incredible stories I have ever herd and has had to deal with a lot in her life and in this 3 moths with her I have watched as she fully embraced her savior and the gospel and just left her old life behind so bravely. To me she is courage.

Julio was baptized!!!!!!!!! It was seriously such a miracle! We asked him on Tuesday to be baptized on Saturday and he said yes. To be honest, I was kindanervous to ask him, but my companion had such faith

and now he is a member of the church. My testimony was strengthened, especially about inviting people to be baptized. It is NEVER a bad idea to ask someone to be baptized and the Lord will bless us for having the faith to do so. He also received the priesthood this Sunday and is going to baptize his son this Saturday.

This weekend we had the miracle of seeing two baptisms in our branch. Dileyla was baptized on Saturday, and the service was great. Our branch president baptized her, and afterwards she bore an amazing testimony. She said that one of her favorite things about the gospel is temple sealings, and she wants to teach her family about the gospel so they can all be sealed together. She looked so clean, pure, and happy after her baptism, it was amazing………with the Hermanas baptism as well.

We saw the baptism of Ricardo this week! It was really a splendid service, the Spirit was so strong throughout! It has been great getting to know him the past two months, and breathtaking to see him finally baptized! He was super excited for it! He told everyone, "¡me bautizohoy!" Lots of family members came, which was tremendous, and most were nonmembers, which was superb! There was a remarkable turnout, with amazing support from the ward members. It made it a phenomenal service. Many awe-inspiring testimonies were given, which brought an astounding spirit to the meeting.

The Miracle of Baptism

13 de Diciembre de 2015El Clarín de El Faro

Dear president, this week we were blessed with the baptism of Nilda. She is from Paraguay. We found her about a month ago when we were contacting with

about 5 minutes left in the day to work. We found her with her friend Fatima who is a member. And then my companion invited her to be baptized right then and there and we taught her and then we had her baptismon Saturday.

President!!!!! Baptism!!!!! We had a baptism I was so excited for her………..The baptism of Alba if I could explain it would be it was perfect. Alba is the first española that has been baptized in this ward in 30 some odd years it was amazing. Her testimony is so strong she is an amazing asset to this ward. At her baptism the spirit was so strong, everything went perfectly. She was nervous but after a prayer and hug she calmed down. When she came out she just kept telling me, Hermana Hermana I am a new person

Esta semana hemos tenido un bautismo, el de Silvestre :) y la verdad fue muy espiritual. Él es una gran hombre que quiero cambiar su vida y seguir a Cristo.
