Dear Parents, Fun Run– Outstanding fundraising efforts Our school community are outstanding in their support of our fundraising efforts and we saw how enthusiastic our parents, teachers and students were last week, when we held our annual whole school ‘Fun Run’. I congratulate all children and teachers for their full participation, by dressing up in costume, collecting sponsorship money and running laps of the school oval for 45 minutes. Please continue with the fundraising effort, as all proceeds go towards school improvements for the students. Last year’s fundraising total has provided a brand new playground and upgrade of our 2 existing yellow playgrounds. These works commenced today and will be ready for the students to play on next week. Adam Voight Parent Education Evening– 31 July 6pm We are thrilled to announce our Parent Education Forum with Adam Voight, founder of Real Schools. Adam has commenced working with our school to build a positive and supportive culture at FHPS where the focus is on strengthening relationships for all. Adam is a highly engaging presenter and I fully recommend his up and coming presentation for all parents to attend. Please see the flyer attached to this newsletter for further details and note the date in your calendar and diary to ensure you attend the date in July. Reports and Parent Teacher Meetings– Tuesday 25 & Wednesday 26 June. I have been reading student reports this week and have enjoyed learning about students’ strengths, achievements and improvements this year. Please ensure you book into Parent Teacher meetings via the Sentral Portal. All families will need to log onto this portal to access their child’s report and book their meeting time. Please see flyer attached with this newsletter for specific details as bookings are open from tomorrow, Friday 14 June. Racquets Presentation A special thank you to Mr Kight for securing 90 tennis racquets for all of our Prep children this year. These will be presented on Friday afternoon, as a gift to all Prep children, by the local ANZ bank manager and the local Bruce Park tennis coach. This is a wonderful outcome for our Prep students. I hope you enjoy your new racquets during these approaching school holidays. Pupil Free Day Our last Pupil Free Day for this year is scheduled for Wednesday 14 August. Please note this day in your calendar as children are not required at school on this day. Care is available through Camp Australia. Please book in with Katie, the OSHC Coordinator. FHPS Semester 1 Three Way Conferences

Share your child’s semester 1 learning journey at his/her three way conference in the final week of term 2.

Three Way Conference bookings open on Sentral 9:00am, Friday June 14 and close on Tuesday June 25 at 3:00pm.

Who attends the three way conference? The student, his/her parents and the teacher.

What happens in a three way conference?

The class teacher facilitates a learning discussion conducted by the student about his/her

learning achievements, progress and areas for further improvement. Work samples are shared to

support the learning discussion. Parents have the opportunity to ask questions and give feedback.

Throughout the conference the teacher clarifies and elaborates on student learning, and responds

to specific questions and concerns.

Why three way conferences?

Three-way conferences allow students to articulate and reflect on their learning, promoting student

voice.

Booking a three way conference

Follow the steps below to schedule your child’s three way conference.

The process needs to be repeated for each of your children.

1. Go to FHPS website and click on the SENTRAL tab. Log onto the FHPS parent portal using your user

name and password.

2. Click on the PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEW tab on your home page

3. Select TIMESLOT

4. Select the date you want to book for your child’s three way conference e.g., 25/6/2019 or 26/6/2019

5. Select the time you would like to schedule (note available timeslots are in black, unavailable in

grey)

6. Three way conferences with specialist teachers are optional. Parents can schedule a

conference time with a specialist teacher if timeslots are available.

7. A message will appear confirming your booking, select SAVE BOOKING.

8. Your appointment time will be displayed.

Please note Mr Kight will not be available for three way conferences on the scheduled dates. If you

would like to book a three way conference with Mr Kight please send an email to the school marked

attention Mr Kight – 3 way conference. Mr Kight will contact you to organise a suitable meeting time.

Tuesday June 25 3:50 - 7:00pm Student’s home room

Wednesday June 26 3:50 – 5:30pm Student’s home room

FHPS Semester 1 Reports

Semester 1 reports will be published to the parent portal on Monday June 24. Parents will need to log

on to the portal to access their child’s/children’s mid year reports.

Parents who have not yet registered for the portal can contact Michelle Smith for portal set up

support.
