Introduction

The ISF AcademyThe Independent Schools Foundation Academy Limited (The ISF Academy) is a non-profit, Private Independent School emphasizing Chinese language and culture with a global perspective. Accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP), The ISF Academy is a learning community motivated by high expectations and committed to a unique set of core values.

The ISF Academy’s programs develop students who reflect our key descriptors – Independent, Chinese, and Global. Our students are trained to be independent in thought and action by learning to think critically, communicate effectively, and by participating in experiential learning programs which promote self-esteem, responsibility and compassion. ISF Academy students are strongly connected to Chinese culture through immersion in a linguistically-rich Chinese cultural setting. They experience exposure to other countries and cultures, and are intellectually stimulated through their mastery of the English language and their focus on the globally-oriented curricula of the International Baccalaureate (IB).

The ISF Academy ensures that all students engage in purposeful learning activities that help them master the skills of analysis, develop perspective and judgment, respect all living things, as well as communicate, connect, and be empowered to act within the community at large.

HistoryIn February 2000, The Independent Schools Foundation (the Foundation) was established as a registered charitable organization to provide diversity in choice of education for local students. In August 2003, the Foundation established a non-profit, private independent school, The ISF Academy, for Grades 1 to 12 in order to cater to the increasing demand for a high-caliber Putonghua and English education in an inquiry-based learning environment.

Starting with just 56 students in Grades 1 through 4, The ISF Academy soon outgrew its temporary campus in Wanchai. This situation necessitated the addition of a second temporary campus in Causeway Bay. In 2007, the campuses were consolidated and moved to our permanent campus in Pokfulam.

There are two other events worthy of note here as we discuss the history of the development of the ISF Academy. In February 2008, the school commenced its first full year of our Foundation Year program, a preparatory year for students prior to Grade 1. And, the graduation of our first cohort of Grade 12 students was held at the completion of the academic year 2011-12.

The Independent Schools Foundation LimitedThe Foundation was established in 2000 to provide financial and advisory support to The ISF Academy. As a private, non-profit organization, the Foundation holds a Section 88 Inland Revenue Ordinance Exemption which enables our donors to claim tax relief in Hong Kong for donations made to The Independent Schools Foundation Limited.

校 史智立教育基金於2000年2月成立，並註冊成為慈善機構，為本地學生提供更多受教育的選擇。基金於2003年創辦

了弘立書院，以普通話和英語沉浸式教育，以及培養探索精神為本的獨立非牟利的私立學校，提供一至十二年

級的課程。

弘立書院於2003年8月在灣仔的臨時校舍正式開辦，當時只有56位一至四年級的學生。由於學生人數迅速增加，

弘立書院獲准啟用第二所位於銅鑼灣的臨時校舍，直至2007年8月遷至薄扶林永久校舍 。

在2008年2月，弘立書院開辦了小一預備班，並於2008-09學年正式開始全年制的小一預備班課程。首屆十二年級

畢業生於2012年畢業。

智立教育基金有限公司智立教育基金有限公司於2000年成立，主要為弘立書院提供學校營運及經濟支持，是一所非牟利教育機構。智立

教育基金獲香港稅務局稅務條例第八十八條認可，捐款人可在本港申請扣減稅項。

Report form Chairman,Fundraising Steering Committee It has been another very successful year for The ISF Academy! We are very fortunate to have raised HK$53,423,466 in donations and monetary pledges to support our school. These include funds and other resources raised from a diversified array of sources, including individual and corporate gifts, gifts earmarked for specific learning programs, annual gift funds, financial aid and scholarship funds, as well as proceeds from fundraising events.

We would like to extend a big thank you to all our donors for your generosity and for helping us establish The ISF Education Endowment Fund. Through our Phase 3A and 3B dream, the two new stages of development of our school, is turning into reality.

The ISF Education Endowment Fund is part of an important effort to provide students with unparalleled opportunities to learn and grow during their years spent on the campus. It enables The ISF Academy to join the ranks of and compete with other top notch educational institutions that also have endowment funds as essential resources for their development.

Donations from parents and friends to the Endowment Fund, along with incomes generated from this Fund, support programs and activities that are of benefit to our students. Because of your support, The Academy is able to attract the best teachers and professional staff and to provide an increasing number of opportunities to our students for them to engage in intellectual and co-curricular pursuits unique to ISF.

We are sincerely grateful to all of our benefactors who contributed to The ISF Education Endowment Fund. It provides the school with resources to be even more effective in educating our students to think critically, communicate bilingually, and mature into responsible and globally minded citizens in the future.

As CEO of the Independent Schools Foundation and Head of The ISF Academy, I am both delighted and humbled by the remarkable generosity of the ISF Community. So much of what we have built together in these past few years is a direct result of donor generosity: this year has been no exception. With the strong support of our benefactors, our parents and friends, the Academy has enjoyed another year of strong enrolment growth, outstanding academic excellence, and major progress in our Phase III building project to expand student facilities at our Kong Sin Wan Road Campus.

While space limitations preclude a comprehensive report of our achievements this year, some of the major highlights include:

• A successful Jam 2014 and fundraising efforts, which raised in excess of HK$8.9 million in donations and pledges.• Establishment of The ISF Academy Education Endowment Fund to support academic programs and activities.• Founding of The ISF Pre-School.• Superb academic outcomes and student participation in our unique Shuyuan program.• Construction for Phase III, with completion due in 2017.

These achievements and advancements were all made possible through the generous donations of our ISF parents and friends. We are grateful for the trust and support of our community and look forward to the future as we work together to build a truly world-class school.

The ISF Education Endowment Fund was established in 2014 to support learning programs that will sustain The Academy as a global leader in bilingual education.

An endowment fund is a perpetual fund. The capital amount of the fund is kept intact and fund principal is invested. Only income generated through investing the endowed sum is spent.

Programs and Activities supported byFunds Donated in 2014-15For the 2014/15 academic year, The Independent Schools Foundation raised HK$53,423,466 in donations and pledges to support ISF programs and activities.

The ISF Education Endowment Fund was also established and raised HK$8.9 million at the annual school fundraiser – The Jam 2014.

The ISF Aspire Campaign came to a successful conclusion, raising over HK$300 million from 2008 to 2014. An additional HK$35 million was used from funds raised in 2014/15 to complete the Aspire fundraising goal. As a direct result of the successful Aspire Campaign, ISF was able to construct the eight-story G Block, which included Jessie’s Kitchen, The H.J. Zhang Black Box Theater, a new indoor gymnasium and climbing wall. The Academy also extended The Clifford C.F. Wong Primary Library, built the 6/F Secondary Annex, and added more than 30 classrooms and other learning spaces across the school.

Other income raised from the year was used to support various programs and activities of the school, subsidies for school activities, student enrichment programs and for the overall enhancement and development of the school.

The following programs highlight some of those that are supported by these funds:

IB ProgrammesMoney was used to fund and support learning and educational support programs for students with their Personal Projects, Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essays in the Senior Year Programs. Extra coaching and tutorials now available will enable our students to manage their study and ultimately improve examination scores.

Organs for New Auditorium Phase 3An anonymous donor’s contribution made it possible to purchase two new high-quality organs. One will be located in our new auditorium scheduled for completion in 2017. The second organ will be placed in our new Annex on the top floor of the Secondary School and will provide students a great place to learn and practice the organ. ISF greatly appreciates our anonymous donor for her kindness in making it possible to purchase our new organs. In addition, donor funding enabled The ISF Academy to host a choir from Oxford University, which performed for Primary and Secondary students; it also funded workshops with our music students. Additional musical string and brass instruments were purchased for use by students in the music programme, as well as the enrichment Band and Jazz ensembles.

Co-Curricular Activities (CCA)The CCA Department focused on providing new equipment and additional sport team coaching in 2014-2015. Funds were used to purchase high quality FIG certified gymnastics equipment to ensure a safe and positive learning environment for our budding gymnasts. Team sports were a focus. An excellent round robin tournament and coaching football day ensured our football enthusiasts had an opportunity to train and play together. A specialized two-day basketball coaching clinic was organized to provide expert tuition to student basketball athletes. Also, specialist netball coaching and equipment purchases were made possible through this donation. Donor funding also enabled the Secondary School to outfit a Youth Fitness Room with a range of resistance and machines weights, as well as cardiovascular training equipment. This fitness suite has enabled the Secondary School to diversify its Physical & Health Education programme.

No Bully ProgramThe ISF Academy inaugurated the No Bully Campaign to promote student well being. This program was designed to develop and implement an integrated social emotional learning platform for the School. The whole community was engaged in the implementation of micro lessons that connect the ISF Academy’s Eight Virtues + One, the IB Learner Profile and the ISF Academy Student Development Goals.

為新禮堂三期工程購置風琴

一位無名氏捐助者的善款用於添置兩架優質風琴，其中一架將放置在2017年落成的新禮堂內；另一架則放在中學

部加建樓層中，為學生提供更好的環境練習演奏風琴。我們衷心感謝這位捐款人的善意。另外，是次捐款促使弘

立書院邀請牛津大學合唱團，為中、小學生表演，亦為音樂課學生舉辦專題研討會。弘立書院也會購買新的弦樂

和銅管樂器，以及樂團和爵士樂合奏樂器供學生表演使用。

聯課活動

在2014-15學年，聯課活動部著重添置運動器材和校隊訓練。捐款會用於購買優質FIG認證體操器材，為我們傑出

的運動員提供一個安全、良好的學習環境。而團隊運動是我們其中一個培育重點：足球隊員在精心安排的循環賽

和足球訓練日，有充足機會接受訓練和切磋球技；特別設計的兩天籃球訓練營為籃球運動員提供專業指導。捐款

也用來購置專業投球器材和聘請專業教練。另外，捐款用於中學部加設青少年健身室，配有一系列阻力肌力訓練

器械、負重訓練器械及強化心肺訓練設備，令中學部的體育課程更多元化。

「尊重關懷‧杜絕欺凌」計劃

弘立書院實施的「尊重關懷‧杜絕欺凌」計劃旨在協助學校建立一個社交情緒學習平台，為弘立社群提供解決問

題的技巧，連繫弘立書院的「八德一智」、國際文憑「學習者培養目標」和弘立書院學生發展目標。

在2014-15學年內，智立教育基金會共籌得超過五千三百萬港元捐款和捐款承諾，用作支持弘立書院課程和活動。

「弘立教育基金」於2014年創立，並在Jam 2014年度籌款活動上共籌得逾港幣890萬元。

「雄心萬丈計劃」在2014年7月圓滿結束，在2008-2014年期間共籌得捐款超過三億港元。其中三千五百萬港元於

2014-2015學年到中帳，成功達到「雄心萬丈計劃」的目標。「雄心萬丈計劃」為弘立提供資金興建八層高的G大

樓，大樓中設有佩珍軒、黑盒劇場、嶄新室內體育館和攀岩牆。學校還擴建了黃振輝小學圖書館，興建了中學加

建樓層（六樓），以及在學校各處加添超過30個教室以及其他學習空間。

其他捐款收入將用於支持各種課程活動，補貼學校活動開支，支持學生參加學生發展項目以及全面改善學校設施

和發展。

Jam2014 One day each year, we appeal to our school community for their support and participation in our Jam, the annual school fundraiser. The Aspire Campaign had concluded and the final construction phase com-menced a few months back, so it was determined that funds raised at The Jam 2014 would be channeled towards the newly established ISF Academy Education Endowment Fund. The goal of this fund is to sustain The Academy as a global leader in bilingual education.

Our parents and friends demonstrated fully the spirit of ISF, or “Zhong” in particular, by contributing over HK$8 million to kick-start our Education Endowment Fund. The day’s events engaged over 3,000 parents, students and guests who all shared delightful moments during the event. Our students, young and old, engaged in singing, bumping, painting, abseiling, all the while joining in the happiness and excitement of this festive atmosphere.

One of the highlights of Jam 2014, the Christmas Tree Campaign, provided our creative young artists with the opportunity to add glistening colors to the fabulous Christmas tree in the Professor Sir Charles Kao Square. Mr. Gordon Dickson, our Artist-in-Residence, shared his talents by demonstrating his paint-ing skills for our audience. And, an ISF Alumni Corner was set up for our parents and guests to view our alumni portrait wall and become acquainted with the university lives of our growing alumni community. We look forward to seeing our graduates participate at The Jams in future years!

Our heartfelt thanks go to our dedicated teachers and staff, student helpers and parent volunteers who contributed tirelessly to The Jam 2014. Their enduring and generous support has made the event a resounding success.

Jam作為每年一度的籌款盛事，我們都會呼籲弘立大家庭的每一位踴躍支持和參與。「雄心萬丈」計劃已經圓

滿結束，而新大樓發展最後一期亦已在數月前展開，故此 Jam 2014 所籌得的款項將會撥捐新成立的「弘立教

育基金」，帶領本校邁向全球領先的雙語教育機構。

我們的家長和弘立之友合共捐出了超過八百萬港元，充份體現弘立書院精神，特別是「八德一智」中的「忠」；

至於款項則會用作成立「弘立教育基金」。在 Jam 2014 當天，共有逾三千多名學生、家長和其他賓客蒞臨，一同

分享喜悅時刻。而我們的學生享受著豐富的節目，包括歌唱表演、遊戲、藝術和手工攤位、沿繩下降等，在歡樂

和精彩的氣氛中渡過。

Jam 2014 其中一個重點項目，弘立聖誕樹活動，為年輕藝術家提供機會，替位於高錕教授廣場的聖誕樹增添亮麗

色彩。至於駐校藝術家狄國傑先生為我們即場示範他的繪畫技巧，展現他的天賦。另一方面，家長和賓客們於校

友會資訊處，透過展示校友的圖像和相關描述，了解他們的大學生活概況，亦見證校友會的發展。我們更期待看

到本校畢業生參與將來的 Jam！

Ways toGIVE The Annual FundThe Annual Fund was created in 2007 for the specific purpose of raising funds to support theannual operating budget of The ISF Academy.

General DonationGeneral donations to the Academy support the overall running and support of school programs and activities.

Designated DonationDonors may designate specific purposes/activities for their donations.

Make a Pledged DonationDonations of HK$250,000 and above can be pledged and paid in equal annual installments over a period of five years.

Naming Rights ProgramDonors have the right to name specified classrooms, facilities, or buildings selected for the Naming Rights program.

09捐款方法

捐款方法

年度基金2007年設立的年度基金，有助弘立書院增加財政來源，擴大好些不能只靠學費收入來支持的項目。

一般捐款用於支持學校的日常運作、學生學習和探索的機會。

特定捐款 用於捐款人指定的用途或活動。

承諾捐獻捐贈港幣25萬或以上，可以採用承諾捐獻形式，每年定額認捐，分5年期付款。

冠名捐獻計劃冠名捐獻計劃列出特定的教室，設施或建築物，讓捐款人可以為所選擇的項目冠名。
