As a result an SGB nomination and election meeting to elect one parent governor has been rescheduled for next week Tuesday 20 November at 17h00 in the primary school hall. Nominations are open this week for any further nominations, nomination forms can be collected from the office, either at the Prep campus from Caron or at the Primary campus from Pat. Nomination forms must be submitted to Caron or Pat by 8am on the day of the by-election. Please make an effort to attend this by-election to make your vote count! Attached is the formal notification letter of the SGB by-election. REVISION & EXAM ASSESSMENTS: Exams start on Thursday 15 November for Grade 7 and Grades 4-6 start on Monday 19 November 2018. Please assist children to study and prepare adequately for the exams. Children need to be supported in a calm manner at home with nutritious food and a sound sleep pattern. Encourage children to get into a routine of studying at the same time daily and they also need “time-out” to get some fresh air and a break from learning. A reminder: Mathematics takes long hours of practice by redoing all examples in the Maths classwork book in preparation for the exam. It is a good idea to engage and ask your child questions on the work studied for content subjects as this will be a great help and also shows you have an interest in their studying. I have no doubt our children will continue to deliver their best and we wish all our children the best of luck for these important assessments. Reminder school closes at 1pm for all grades during the assessment/exam period. Reminder: NO assemblies or tuckshop during the exam period. INTER-HOUSE ATHLETICS: Last week Friday the Inter-House Athletics event took place on the Jan van Riebeeck High School field on a stunning summer day. It was a fun-filled morning with some outstanding performances by many athletes with many records broken. Well done to all the athletes who participated as well as to the House Captains and cheerleaders who did a great job leading their houses and creating spirit on the day. The songs, cheerleading and dances were great – well done! The results were as follows: Spirit Trophy: Glen Athletics: 3 rd – Glen 533 2 nd – Pine 617 1 st – Bay 809 The Inter-house Athletics is a challenging event to organise and I would like to thank Mrs Weldon, Mr McEwan and Mr Ryklieff for all their hard work in preparing and organising this event. Thanks also to Michelle Fernandes for organising the tuckshop on the day.

Bay Primary School on this day ONLY. Thereafter you will have to deal directly

with Waltons and Books 24/7. The school admin staff will not be involved in any

of the stationery and textbook sales but will refer you to the supplier to sort out any problems.

All school and aftercare fees should be paid up to date for the year. Thank you to all those parents who
