General InformationAs part of our valve program we also offer the service to supplypre-manufactured valve manifolds based upon specific customerrequirements.

ApplicationValve manifolds are widely used within the dairy, food, beverageand brewery industries and provides easy on site installation andconnection to pipe connections.

Standard Design• Welding Procedures according to EN 288-3.• Orbital Welding wherever possible.• All external pipe ends have welding ends each 100 mm long.• Product wetted parts are AISI 316L/EPDM.• Internal and external acid treatment and external glass blasting,

after the welding.• Adjustable feet +/- 30 mm.• Valves welded directly together wherever possible.• Access allowed for in the design to enable service access.• Surface roughness (app. Ra 1,6 micron).

ConceptThe Unique Mixproof Valve is designed with user flexibility in mind.The customer can choose additional options as required individually;for example higher hygiene demands or higher resistance againstphysically tough conditions. Please see next page for a graphicoverview of the modularity of the Unique Mixproof Valve.

Working PrincipleUnique is remote-controlled by means of compressed air. The valveis a normally closed (NC) valve.The valve has two independent plug seals, forming a leakage chamberbetween them under atmospheric pressure during every workingcondition. In case of rare accidental leaking of product, this will flowinto the leakage chamber and be discharged through the leakageoutlet. When the valve is open, the leakage chamber is closed. Theproduct can then flow from one line to the other.The valve can be cleaned and water hammer protected to any levelaccording to the needs in the specific process (see next page). Thereis virtually no spillage of product when operating the valve.

ConceptThe Unique Mixproof UltraPure valve is devolved and designed to suitthe needs of the Pharmaceutical and Biotech industries.

The Unique Mixproof UltraPure valve solution provides a higherdegree of plant flexibility resulting in optimized plant efficiency withoutcompromising product safety. One valve providing double block andbleed with simplicity, safety and efficiency in mind.

Customers can choose additional options as required individually;for example higher alloys to improve corrosion resistance againstphysically tough conditions.

Working PrincipleUnique is remote-controlled by means of compressed air. The valve isalways defined as a normally closed (NC) valve configuration.

The valve has two independent plug seals, forming a leakage chamberbetween them under atmospheric pressure during every workingcondition. In case of rare accidental leaking of product, this will flowinto the leakage chamber between the two plugs and be dischargedthrough the leakage outlet for easy detection. When the valve isopen the radial design ensures no spilling of product and the leakagechamber is closed. The product can then flow from one line to theother.

The valve can be water hammer protected to any level according tothe needs in the specific process.

ConceptThe Unique Mixproof High Alloy is developed and designed to suittough applications within Dairy, Food, Beverage, Personal, - andHome Care applications, that demands high grade alloys to improvecorrosion resistance against for example high chloride, chemicals, lowpH or abrasive products

The Unique Mixproof High Alloy solution provides a higher degreeof plant flexibility resulting in optimized plant efficiency withoutcompromising product safety. One valve providing double block andbleed with simplicity, safety and efficiency in mind.

The customer can choose additional options as required individuallywith user flexibility in mind. Please see next page for a graphicoverview of the modularity of the Unique Mixproof Valve.

Working PrincipleUnique is remote-controlled by means of compressed air. The valveis a normally closed (NC) valve. The valve has two independent plugseals, forming a leakage chamber between them under atmosphericpressure during every working condition. In case of rare accidentalleaking of product, this will flow into the leakage chamber and bedischarged through the leakage detection outlet. When the valve isopen, the leakage chamber is closed. The product can then flowfrom one line to the other. The valve can be cleaned and waterhammer protected to any level according to the needs in the specificprocess (see next page). There is virtually no spillage of product whenoperating the valve.

ConceptThis Unique Mixproof LP valve is based on the well proven andexceptionally flexible design of the Unique Mixproof valves. The valvesare designed for gentle handling of the product containing largeparticulates up to 1¾" (45 mm) or products with high viscosity.

Working principleUnique Mixproof LP is remote-controlled by means of compressed air.The valve is a normally closed (NC) valve. It is as standard suppliedseat lift, which enables handling of two different products at the sametime, or safe handling of one product while seat-lift cleaning operationsare being conducted in the other portion of the valve – all without anyrisk of cross-contamination.

The 6” valve is as standard also equipped with balanced lower plugto protect against the effects of high pressure and water hammer.The 4” valve is, in order to accommodate 1½” (45mm) particles, notsupplied with balanced lower plug. The 4” is however as standardequipped with a boost actuator to accommodate a product pressureof up to 10 bar.

ConceptThis Unique Mixproof LP-F valve is based on the well proven andexceptionally flexible design of the Unique Mixproof valves. The valvesare designed for gentle handling of the product containing largeparticulates up to 45 mm or products with high viscosity.

Additional to the Unique Mixproof Large Particle valve (LP) the LP-Fis equipped with a lower flush to enable 100% cleanability of the lipseal in the lower sealing element through seat-lift cleaning alone. Thisan improved performance compared to Spiral clean on the lower plugand reduces the need for additional utility installations for external CIP.

Working PrincipleUnique Mixproof LP-F is remote-controlled by means of compressedair. The valve is a normally closed (NC) valve. It is as standard suppliedseat lift, which enables handling of two different products at the sametime, or safe handling of one product while seat-lift cleaning operationsare being conducted in the other portion of the valve – all without anyrisk of cross-contamination. The 6” valve is as standard also equippedwith balanced lower plug to protect against the effects of high pressureand water hammer. The 4” valve is, in order to accommodate 45mmparticles, not supplied with balanced lower plug. The 4” is however asstandard equipped with a boost actuator to accommodate a productpressure of up to 10 bar. When seat lift of the lower plug is performedthe valve will simultaneously clean the lower plug seal as well as thelover sealing element lip seal.

ConceptThe exceptional concept of this mixproof valve is characterized byexcellent unmatched flexibility - yet still being very simple. The modulardesign gives you the perfect valve for your exact needs in all mixprooftank outlet operations allowing two different products in pipeline andtank.

Working PrincipleUnique is remote-controlled by means of compressed air. The valveis a normally closed (NC) valve.The valve has two independent plug seals, forming a leakage chamber.In the leakage chamber there is only atmospheric pressure duringevery working condition. In case of rare accidental leaking of product,this will flow into the leakage chamber and be discharged throughthe leakage outlet. When the valve is open, the leakage chamber isclosed. The product can then flow from tank to pipeline.The valve is water hammer protected in the pipeline due to thebalanced plug that prevent the plug from closing too fast, when closingin the direction of product flow.The valve can be cleaned to any level according to the needs inthe specific process. There is virtually no spillage of product whenoperating the valve.

Standard designThe valve consists of one valve body, which is connected to either atank flange or a stub flange with a clamp.The body can be turned in any position if the clamp is slightly loosened.The tank flange is welded directly into the tank. (Important! Observewelding guideline in instruction manual).The tank flange is supplied with TÜV approval AD 2000 and inspectioncertificate 3.1 according to EN10204.The design allows the Unique-TO to be installed in a horizontal position.

SpiralCleanThe Alfa Laval SpiralClean system to clean the balanced plug andleakage chamber.The system cleans more efficiently, uses less cleaning fluid by ensuringthat a directional flow of CIP fluid reaches all the surfaces in much lesstime than with conventional systems.

ConceptThis Unique Mixproof HT Valve is specially designed for horizontalmounting on the side of a tank or as a space-saving alternative atthe bottom of a cone-formed tank. Based on the well proven andexceptionally versatile principle of the Unique Mixproof valves, thishorizontal mixproof tank valve features many of the same components,such as the actuator, yoke and seals, and therefore the same spareparts. This provides the benefits of easy serviceability and low totalcost of ownership.

Standard designThe Unique Mixproof HT valve, which can be fitted with any level ofsensing and control. It is as standard supplied with seat lift, whichenables handling of two different products at the same time, or safehandling of one product while seat-lift cleaning operations are beingconducted in the other portion of the valve – all without any risk ofcross-contamination.

The double tangential design of the valve body ensures full drainability,especially when the valve is mounted at the bottom of a flat-bottomedtank.

State of the art – Cleanability

The Unique Mixproof HT valve also provides a state of the artsolution when there is no CIP pressure or flow from the tank side toclean the seat and plug. The valve is self-cleaning, thanks to twopatented Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) nozzles. The first nozzle is designedspecifically for plug cleaning. This double-acting nozzle projectscleaning solution through the tank connection, ensuring completecleaning of the seat contact surfaces as well as the shadow area of thetank port. The second is a rotating CIP nozzle incorporated into theunit for optimum cleaning of the full-bore leakage chamber.

The design of the single valve body makes it suitable to weld directlyon the tank or to connect it via a Tri-clamp

The 4” and 6” models feature a 45-mm opening, which enables thepassage of very large particles or efficient handling of high viscosityfluids.
