Alaska Native Discipleship Teen Camp $16,795 (partial payment)

Lutheran Indian Ministries held their first teen camp in 2014. Eighteen youth were baptized over the following three summers and the

number of teens attending has nearly tripled over the four years, with interest continuing to grow. Alcoholism, abuse and suicide plague the Native communities at one of the highest rates in the nation. The love of Christ is exhibited at these camps and trained Native counselors are involved in the outreach. The funds from this grant will cover round trip flights, food, activities and camp rental fees for the teens attending teen camp.

Mission Grant PrayerLord God, heavenly Father, You know the trials and temptations facing youth, including also Native American youth in Alaska. Please bless the gifts of LWML donors, including mine, to advance the ministries of “Alaska Native Discipleship Teen Camp”. Through the Gospel-centered influences of this caring agency, guide many Native American youth to lives of spiritual maturity, moral integrity and responsible leadership, In the name of Jesus, Friend of youth.
