Visitors canalso experience the smells of the 19th-century wash houseand the 1930s sweet shop. In winter, the fires and ranges willbe lit in each house. All tours are led by volunteer guides whowill talk about the families who lived here. There are alsosound points in two of the houses and the exhibition room toenable visitors to hear recorded memories of life in the Backto Backs.
