DIRECTIONS FOR USEIMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. Allinstructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safeand successful use of this product.MODE OF ACTIONRoaxe 100 controls susceptible grass weeds in the listed crops after foliar uptake. It has no residual activity by uptake from the soil and thus its activity is not affectedby soil type or organic matter status. Susceptible grass weeds must have germinatedand be at a suitable growth stage to receive the spray at the time of application.CROPSRoaxe 100 may be used on all current varieties of wheat, winter barley and spring barley. Do not use on oats. Do not use Roaxe 100 on undersown crops or crops to beundersown.WEED CONTROLRoaxe 100 controls wild oats, Italian rye-grass and perennial rye-grass (from seed)in wheat, winter and spring barley. When used as one element in an integratedcontrol programme, Roaxe 100 assists in the control of black-grass in winter andspring barley. Broad-leaved weeds are not controlled.WEED RESISTANCEStrains of some annual grasses, e.g. black-grass, wild-oats, and Italian rye-grass,have developed resistance to herbicides which may lead to poor control. Astrategy for preventing and managing such resistance should be adopted.Guidelines have been produced by the Weed Resistance Action Group and copiesare available from the HGCA, CPA, your distributor, crop advisor or productmanufacturer.- This product contains pinoxaden which is an ACCase inhibitor, also classified by the Herbicide Resistance Action Committee as ‘Group A’.- Use only as part of a resistance management strategy that includes cultural methods of control and does not use ACCase inhibitors as the sole chemical method of grass-weed control.- Applying a second product containing an ACCase inhibitor to a crop will increase the risk of resistance development; only use a second ACCase inhibitor to control different weeds at a different timing.- Always follow WRAG guidelines for preventing and managing herbicide resistant grass-weeds.- Do not use Roaxe 100 or any other ACCase inhibitor as the sole means of grass weed control in successive crops.- Use grass-weed herbicides with different modes of action throughout the cropping rotation.- To reduce the risk of developing resistance, applications should be made to young, actively growing weeds.- Use mixtures of herbicides or sequences of herbicides with different modes of action within individual crops or successive crops.- Monitor treatment efficacy and seek professional advice if areas of poor weed control occur that appear otherwise inexplicable.- Use crop rotation and other cultural control measures to prevent and manage herbicide resistant grass weeds.RATE OF USE AND TIMINGApply Roaxe 100 at 0.3 - 0.6 L/ha on barley or 0.3 - 0.45 L/ha on wheat in mixturewith an authorized 47% methylated rapeseed oil adjuvant. (See sectionADJUVANT). Select the appropriate application rate of Roaxe 100 within therecommended range according to the grass weeds to be controlled. Roaxe 100 should always be used in a programme with a herbicide from analternative group active against rye-grasses and black-grass (e.g. after apre-emergence treatment).

ADJUVANTRoaxe 100 must always be applied in mixture with an approved 47%methylated rapeseed oil adjuvant such as Methyl 47 (ADJ0761) or ADJ 0522or ADJ 0641 at a concentration of 0.5% of the spray volume (500 ml per100 litres of water). If the spray volume is reduced below 200 litres of waterper hectare, then the adjuvant concentration may be increased to amaximum of 1.0% of the spray volume (1 litre per 100 litres of water).CROP AND WEATHER CONDITIONSApply Roaxe 100 onto dry foliage when rain is not expected for at least 2-3hours. Rain falling within 1 hour of application is likely to reduce weed control.Best results are achieved against young weeds growing actively under warm, moist conditions. Ensure that crops to be treated are vigorous with growthunaffected by any stress condition. Do not apply to any crop suffering froma growing stress, frost, pests, disease, soil acidity, nutrient deficiency, moisture stress, water-logging, soil compaction or other condition retardinggrowth.COMPATIBILITY AND SEQUENTIAL SPRAYSDo not apply Roaxe 100 in mixture or close sequence with a hormone-typeherbicide. If practicable avoid the use of a hormone-type herbicide in thespray programme; however Roaxe 100 may be used in a sequence with hormone-type herbicides provided that an interval of at least 7 days elapsesafter the application of Roaxe 100 before the hormone-type herbicide isapplied. If the hormone-type herbicide precedes the application of Roaxe 100allow at least 21 days before applying Roaxe 100.Contact Chem-Wise Ltd Tel: 0870 770 8770 for compatibility information onspecific tank-mixes.

FOLLOWING CROPSAfter a crop has been harvested at the normal time, there are no restrictionson future cropping. Following a crop failure, an interval of at least 4 weeks should be allowed after

the application of Roaxe 100 before re-sowing. Oats, rye-grasses and maizeare amongst the more sensitive crops to Roaxe 100.

APPLICATIONApply the recommended quantity of Roaxe 100 in 100-400 l/ha water as aFINE-MEDIUM spray through flat fan nozzles (BCPC definitions) at 2-3 barto give even coverage and maximum retention of the spray on the targetweeds. Do not apply as a COARSE spray. The use of pre-orifice/airinduction nozzles is not recommended. Use the highest water volume indense crops and at the later growth stages. Avoid spray drift. Do not sprayin windy weather; oats, rye-grasses and maize in particular may be damagedby spray drift.

MIXINGNearly-fill the spray tank with clean water. With the sprayer contents underagitation, add the required quantity of Roaxe 100 and allow to disperse fully.Add the required quantity of adjuvant (see ADJUVANT). Continue agitation whilst topping up the tank with water to the requiredlevel and until the mix is sprayed out. Spray immediately after mixing.

SPRAYER MAINTENANCEImmediately after use thoroughly clean all equipment with water and detergentusing standard cleaning procedures. Traces of herbicide left in the sprayermay damage susceptible crops sprayed with the equipment later.

MAXIMUM RESIDUE LEVELSThe following maximum residue level must not be exceeded in theharvested wheat and barley:Pinoxaden 0.05 mg/kg
