Blakelock’s midget girls com- bined to win six gold, including two each from Zaria Armstrong (100-metre and 200m dashes) and Kaleigh Jeffrey (80m and 300m hurdles). Rachel Dhingra won the high jump title, and the school’s 4x100m relay team was also victo- rious. The Tigers’ other wins came from senior boys’ sprinter Brandon Tyrrell (100m and 200m), Connor Hicks (midget boys’ 400m), Cam- eron Madruga (midget boys’ shot put), Aidan Challis (junior boys’ 300m hurdles) and Grant Hell- mann (junior boys’ javelin). Iroquois Ridge won seven golds, led by two wins apiece by Bryanna Samuels (junior girls’ 100m and 200m) and John Breeson (senior boys’ 400m and 800m). Erica Bol- linger claimed the junior girls’ 80m hurdles crown, Riley Dane won the senior girls’ triple jump, and the Trailblazers were victorious in the junior girls’ 4x100m relay. Loyola and Abbey Park both boasted triple-event winners on the way to winning six golds apiece. Loyola’s star was Kristen O’Neill (midget girls’ 400m, 800m and 1,500m), with Bridget O’Neill (senior girls’ 1,500m), Andy Park (junior boys’ 100m hurdles) and the open girls’ 4x400m relay team adding the Hawks’ other wins. Ab- bey Park’s Melissa Langegger won the midget girls’ shot put, triple jump and long jump, while Eagles teammates Evelyne Guay (800m), Devyn MacKenzie (high jump) and Niki Bozinoski (shot put) struck gold in senior girls’ events. T.A. Blakelock students account-ed for 12 of the 39 gold medals Oakville high schools collected at last week’s Golden Horseshoe Ath-letic Conference track-and-field championships in Hamilton.

Blakelock’s midget girls com-bined to win six gold, including two each from Zaria Armstrong (100-metre and 200m dashes) and Kaleigh Jeffrey (80m and 300m hurdles). Rachel Dhingra won the high jump title, and the school’s 4x100m relay team was also victo-rious.
