SPARE UNIFORM The front office has a shortage of spare clothes. If you have a

child in Transition - Year 2, we ask that you send them to

school with a change of uniform (including underwear) in their

school bag in case of accidents that occur from time to time.

CHILD SAFETY AND WELLBEING Parents are reminded that staff supervision commences at

7:45am each morning prior to school commencing at 8:10am.

Parents who require care before this time are asked to book

their child into the ‘Before School Care Programme’ at a cost

of $50/week or $10 per day.

Parent pick up– Parents are reminded that the Parent pick

up is for a drop off in the morning and collection in the

afternoon. It is not a designated parking area.

Please do not park on the yellow lines outside the front

office entrance. This area is monitored and you may be fined.

PARENT PICK UP & DROP OFF AREA We are currently experiencing a number of traffic flow issues

with our Parent Pick Up and Drop off area at afternoon

dismissal. These issues are currently leading to traffic

congestion on Gsell street, traffic jams in the Parent Pick Up

area and dangerous collection of students.

In order to assist with overcoming these issues you can help in

the following ways:

Do not park in front of the school

automatic gate prior to the opening of

the gates of an afternoon.

Do not park your car in the parent pick

up area and leave your vehicle there.

Do not park or sit idle on the road that

runs through our parent pick up area

If all the waiting bays are full please

drive through and park in the visitor car

park or drive around again.

Thank you for your cooperation with this important issue that

relates to the work health and safety of the children and staff

here at Holy Spirit.

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

RE: School Swimming Programme Term 4, 2019 - Casuarina Pool Swimming Programme begins on Monday 28

th October (Week 3) and concludes on Thursday 7

th November (Week 4).

There are no lessons on Friday of each week.

Cost of Swimming Programme is $64 per student. Payment is due to our office prior to commencement of lessons. Please do not hesitate in making contact with our front office if you wish to discuss a payment plan for this.

Timetable of lessons is currently being coordinated with Royal Life Saving Instructors and Casuarina Pool staff. Lessons will take place from 8:30 – 1:15pm each day (excluding Friday). Once timetable is set it cannot be altered.

This programme not only looks at stroke development, but survival and rescue skills. It is important for children to learn these necessary skills and to familiarise themselves with what to do in case of an emergency. Our swimming programme is a part of the Physical Education Programme here at school, therefore an expectation that all students participate.

To ensure children benefit from this programme, we are asking parents/caregivers to inform the office of any changes to children’s current swimming level. Our records have been updated from our 2018 programme, however if your child has taken part in further lessons out of school hours through your local swimming club then we must see evidence of a certificate to move your child into the next level. We only accept Royal Life Saving Certificates attained by students.

For students new to Holy Spirit, please ensure we are provided evidence of a current Royal Life Saving Swimming Certificate. We must cite the original certificate rather than a photocopy. For any students who do not have a current swimming level, instructors will carry out assessment on the first day of lessons.

Please do not hesitate in speaking with me should you require clarification.

Kind Regards, Paula Sellars Deputy Principal/PE Coordinator
