Dear Nobles: I hope everyone had a great Easter and Passover spending time with the family. This winter stuff continues to stick around throughout April. I’m ready for spring to be here.

We are continuing on with our fundraising goals. For the first time in 5 years we held a carnival and hit a homerun again thanks in part to Fundraising Chairman Jeff Lank and help from the big man upstairs for one of the most beautiful weekends we had in the month of April. We held another successful cash Bingo the week after the carnival. Don’t forget that lottery tickets are still available, get your tickets to join several Nobles that have already won. If you would like Lottery tickets, please contact Ill. Sir Curt Cole or the office. Bowlerama Family & Friends Bowling Event had to be postponed due to several Masonic events scheduled that same weekend. We are feverously looking for another time in the fall to hold this great event. More to come as we finalize a new date.

Another ongoing goal is to boost membership for the Shrine. Our Membership committee chairman Chief Rabban Ricky Swalm continues to draw in new candidates and we have an overwhelming number of petitions to vote on in the beginning of May. A special meeting has been called just so we can elect these nobles. Great job to Ricky Swalm and his committee to grow shrinedom throughout the Masonic community.

Don’t forget that Noble Dave Wheeler is out on the trail and has hiked into the middle part of North Carolina. He has posted part of his progress on a website specific for this event. Please continue to support and promote this event not only in our Lodges but throughout our community and other states.

The first work session was held on April 14th which was spent on setting up for the carnival that evening. There will be another work session in the fall to get the building ready for our ceremonial. As always, we can use all the help we can get.

Mark your calendars for the next big events in the May. Nur Shrine will parade in the Dover Day on May 5 and the Newark Memorial Day on May 20. There will also be a special Mother’s Day Bingo held on May 13th.

Get your race tickets, they were donated by the Dover Speedway for the NASCAR race on Sunday, May 6th. This race is special because the Shriner’s Hospital sponsored car will be driven that day by David Ragan. There will be an area outside the suites to setup our display showcasing NUR Shrine and the Shriners Hospital. We also have the pleasure to visit with the Imperial Officers who will be in attendance for the race. We have worked together for this race and with David Ragan’s race team to arrange a meet and greet before the race. You are invited to join us for these fun activities, if you are interested in tickets, please contact the office before Friday to have your tickets set aside.

None of these successes could not have happen without all the efforts by our nobles and ladies. We are making a difference and let’s keep up great work!
