The commemoration of services by the Newfoundland Regiment for World War I was uniquely accomplished. The stamp design was a composite of the head of a “Caribou and a Moose” andthe phrase “Trail of the Caribou.” The Caribou head was depicted on the Regimental badge.

This Regiment was assigned to practically all fronts during the War, thus the phrase significance
