The Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) is proud to be associated with the 14TH ANNUAL Standardbred Association QLD 2020 State Hacking and Harness Championships. The Commission is proud to support the Championships Adoption section which promotes the rehoming potential of retired
standardbreds as part of the Commission’s Racing Animal Welfare Grants (RAW) program. The Commission supports events of this type as part of the RAW grants program which stimulate potential interest in alternative careers for standardbreds post racing. This event is consistent with the Commission’s objectives as it partners with the racing industry and rehoming organisations to improve integrity standards and further safeguard the welfare of licensed animals and participants in Queensland

2020 QLD Standardbred Track to Hack Series Final Ring Commences: 6pm
Judges: Gordon McCrea & Roslyn Stafford
SECTION 1 - INTRODUCTION All horses will be led onto the arena at the walk in the order of qualification and will be asked to walk and trot on the perimeter of the arena on both reins in front of the judges. SECTION 2 – LED WORKOUT - CONFORMATION AND CORRECTNESS Each horse will line up in the arena. Judges will then inspect the conformation of each horse standing. Horses will be asked to walk and then trot away from the judges and back to the line up. Set workout for led work - at the discretion of the judges. SECTION 3 – RIDDEN WORKOUT Each horse will come in and perform an individual free workout to music, no more than 2 minutes in length. Competitors are to choose what they do, but workout must include walk, trot and canter on both reins. Horses will be judged in individual sections and awarded points which will be combined with Led Section Points to determine Top 5 place getters. SECTION 4 – FINALE All horses will enter the arena at the walk in the order of qualification and will be asked to walk, trot and canter on the perimeter of the arena on both reins in front of the judges.

OUR 2020 STATE HACKING & HARNESS CHAMPIONSHIPS JUDGE
Gabby Kaats Judging Qualifications: Show rider, handler, and Judge of open and breed classes. Gabby has been showing horses for over 40 years in open and breed classes, dressage, and Pony Club. Gabby has ridden her own horse for Champion at Brisbane Royal and Top ten at Grand Nationals. Gabby has taken green horses through the ranks to wins at local shows up to championships.

1. Competition Arena- entry is via gate 1 only, closest to the parking area, exit is via
gate 2 closest to the indoor arena. On entry of gate 1, if not entering the
competition arena turn right and proceed around the competition arena via the
track. These gates are one way to minimise traffic & comply with our COVID-19
Safe Plan.

SAQ COMPETITIONS
COVID SAFE STANDARD CONDITIONS OF ENTRY EFFECTIVE 25TH JUNE 2020 The following conditions of entry will apply to all SAQ competitions until further notice. By entering an SAQ competition you agree to abide by the following conditions of entry and any additional conditions of entry noted on the Event program. • All attendees are to register upon arrival and departure
• All attendees are required to observe social distancing requirements
• The organisers reserve the right to deny access to persons displaying COVID-19 symptoms
The Standardbred Association Qld Inc takes biosecurity seriously and our priority is the health and
safety of members, participants, officials, volunteers, visitors, families and the broader community and
the welfare of horses. Please be assured we will follow all applicable State Government and local
restrictions and regulations, including adhering to our COVID19 safety plan at the time of this event.
Please be aware that all participants have a biosecurity obligation to take all reasonable steps to
ensure your activities do not spread a pest, disease or contaminant.
Biosecurity and workplace health and safety measures are put in place to provide the safest
environment for horses, participants, event organisers, officials, volunteers and support persons.
These measures include:
• Not entering the grounds if you feel unwell or if you are sick.
• A site register recording all participants and support persons that enter the grounds to allow for
tracking, tracing and rapid response of required.
• Adherence to the current COVID-19 Guidelines as provided by Queensland Health.
• Compliance with physical distancing and hand hygiene.
• A completed Horse Health Declaration Form is mandatory.
• No horses with signs of illness are to be brought into grounds.
• Do not share equipment, including food and water containers, or share equipment between horses.
• Participants are responsible for cleaning up manure from yards and placing it in designated areas.
• Participants are required to advise the event organisers immediately if a person or horse is sick.
Stop all non essential contact with the sick person or horse.
• Participants are required to advise the event organisers if they are leaving the grounds with a sick
person or horse.
• Anyone handling horses needs to wash or sanitise hands between contacting different horses.
In the unlikely event of a biosecurity incident, our response plan will be implemented. If the incident
involves a notifiable disease, Biosecurity Queensland and or Queensland Health will be notified and
they may implement legislated controls on the movement of horses from this event. You will be
notified about the incident and you will be expected to follow any directions provided by the event
organisers. In the event of horse movement restrictions participants are responsible for the care,
maintenance and cost of their horses and themselves, including feeding, bedding, vets and personal
needs. Everyone will be expected to remain at the grounds until cleared to leave by the event
organisers.

COVID 19 Return to Play Requirements
• SAQ Inc has an up to date COVID Safe Plan and Checklist, which is available at the Secretary’s Office.
• This event is a Pre-Nominated Event only available through Nominate or via postal/email entries.
• Please only attend the event if you are well. Temperatures may be taken over the weekend and those with a temperature over 37.5 degrees will be sent home.
• All competitors, spectators/helpers and volunteers are required to provide their details on the Attendance Register or via the QR Code App which will both be accessible at the Show Secretary’s Office near the entry to the indoor arena. Your arrival and departure times must be recorded. You will be given a colour coded wrist band to wear throughout the weekend to identify compliance of our COVID Safe Plan. If you leave the grounds during the show you will need to let the office know or use the QR Code Reader. This is a requirement of our COVID Safe Plan.
• Please follow all COVID-19 Restriction Requirements whilst on the grounds.
• Practise social distancing throughout the day, maintain 1.5m at all times.
• No sharing of equipment or personal items. Only touch your own horse, gear etc.
• There will be hand sanitising stations around the grounds. Sanitise regularly throughout the weekend.
• Use good hand hygiene and wash your hands regularly.
2020 State Hacking & Harness Championships Checklist:
Prior to State Championship: • Check the Catalogue of Entries to confirm that you have been listed in the correct classes.
NB: No changes will be made over the weekend
• Ensure that all nominations, stabling and camping fees are paid in full
• Competitor numbers to be printed from template provided in this Catalogue
• Horse Health Declaration Form Printed and Completed
• Liability Waiver Form Printed and Completed
• Stable Bond Refund Form Printed and Completed (if stabling over the weekend)

• This event is operating in compliance with an Industry COVID Safe Plan. You WILL NOT be allowed to show unless you provide a horse health declaration and liability waiver, and abide by the compliance measures put in place under our COVID Safe Plan, which sets out key public health principles and event-specific public health strategies that will limit the transmission of COVID-19 at this event and help event organisers operate safely.
• If stabling your horse over the weekend - please chose a stable and inspect to ensure it is clean before settling your horse into the stable. Please write your details and stable number on the list found in your stable aisle. Please also write your stable number on the top of your Horse Health Declaration Form and Stable Bond Refund Form, and hand this is to the Administration office along with your Liability Waiver and any outstanding paperwork.
• If you are not stabling your horse – please hand in your Horse Health Declaration Form and Liability Waiver and any outstanding paperwork to the Show Secretary’s Office located at the entrance to the Indoor Arena.
• Check the Helpers roster and ensure you or your helper are available for the allotted times throughout the weekend. If you do not allocate a time slot for a minimum of one hour over the weekend, then a time slot will be allocated for you. All competitors/competitors nominated helpers must assist!
During the State Championships • Please follow all COVID19 Restriction Requirements whilst on the grounds. Please practice
good hygiene, washing hands regularly and maintain social distancing of 1.5m at all times.
• All prepping and tacking up of horses needs to be done inside the stable or at your horse float. No horses are to be prepped or tacked up in the isles of the stables to minimise crowding.
• Please ensure you arrive for your class on time. Ample time must be allowed prior to your class for gear check (when required). Ensure you are near the location of your class at least 10 minutes prior to your class starting. There will be regular announcements made over the loud speaker. Classes will not be held up waiting for late comers.
• Please report any scratching from classes as soon as possible to the Show Secretary’s Office.
• The 2020 SAQ State Championships will be run in accordance of Terms and Conditions, Rules and Regulations which can be downloaded from our Web Site www.saq.com.au
• Please ensure you are available for the designated timeslots on the Helper’s roster.
• There will be no presentation at the end of the weekend, however anyone who is riding later in the day we would appreciate your help to pack up.
• SAQ Polo Shirts & Merchandise can be purchased throughout the weekend at Show Secretary’s Office.
• There will be no catering over the weekend due to COVID Restrictions however, there will be a Coffee Van selling Hot Drinks and Cakes/Treats over the weekend..

• On departure, please ensure your stable is clean and report to the office for Stable Manager to inspect your stable. If stables are left uncleaned, stable bonds will not be refunded.

LIABILITY WAIVER FORM EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN RIGHTS TO SUE
The purpose of this agreement is to limit the liability of the Provider to exclude liability for any personal injury or death to the Participant and other people in the care and control of the Participant howsoever caused who signed this form as acknowledgment of the terms and conditions of this agreement. By signing this form you are waiving your rights to sue the Provider for losses relating to personal injury or death. Under the provisions of the Trade Practices Act and Various State Laws conditions are implied into contracts that mean that the Provider of Recreational Services, noted below, is required to ensure that the Recreational Services it sells to you are: rendered with due care and skill, are fit for the purpose for which they are commonly bought as it is reasonable to expect in the circumstances or might reasonably be expected to achieve the result you have made known to the Provider. The Participant acknowledges that the activity being undertaken is an activity being undertaken for the purposes of recreation, enjoyment or leisure which involves a significant degree of physical risk. The participants also acknowledge that the purpose of the recreational activity is for the benefit of the Participant and for the benefit of those people attending with the Participant and that at all times the Participant is responsible for his or her own actions and the actions of those other people in his or her care and control. Steps taken by “Standardbred Association Queensland Incorporated” to avoid the danger of personal injury or death: Association Rules and Guidelines, First Aid trained personnel at events, emergency & risk management procedures in place and effective communication plans for all events.
The Participant acknowledges that during all times while he or she is attending the recreational activity he or she does so at his or her own risk and that the Participant and other people in the care and control of the Participant will not hold the Provider or any of its employees or agents liable for any personal injury or breach of contract whether caused by the negligence of the Provider its employees or agents howsoever caused or otherwise. The Participant acknowledges that in the event that he or she or any of the other people in their care and control find either or any of them is in difficulty that they are to stop the activity or request that the activity be stopped if appropriate, and seek help and/or assistance and advice.
