1st INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR YOUNG PIANISTS “ Franz Liszt Trophy” from 20th to 23th October, 2016 2 Kursaal Hall – Grottammare (AP) - ITALY ******* RULE 1) The “Ferenc Liszt International Society” , with sponsorship and contribution of the City of Grottammare ( AP ), organize the first edition of the International Piano Competition for Young Pianists “Franz Liszt Trophy " . The competition is open to pianists from all over the world , of both sexes , and that the date of the “Finalissima” no older than 25 years of age. The Competition will be held from 20 to 23 October 2016 at the Teatro Kurshaal of Grottammare ( AP ) . The deadline for Entry and partecipation is 30th September, 2016. 2) The Competition is divided into 5 Categories divided by age group. The Competitors can register only in their Category and all executions should be carried from memory. Before the start of his Round Competitors present to the Jury a copy of the pieces in program. The pieces will have to be published, they will not be accepted unedited transcriptions or generic facilities. 3) Two Rounds are provided for each category: Preliminary Round and Final Round . For the transition from the Preliminary Round to Final Round the Jury will proceed with a votation of the 3 best Competitors by putting a simple YES or NOT. Access to the Final Round will be allowed by the unanimity of the votes or a majority. In the Final Round the Jury will award the Prizes by voting in hundredths from 1 to 100. The Final Result of the vote will be resulted from the arithmetic mean of the scores after excluding the highest and the lowest vote. 4) Before the start of each category every single Member of the Jury will prepare a report with which declare in advance it’s relations with partecipants in the Competition. If any Member of the Jury to present their students or they were in the presence of Competitors ones I’ve had in the preceding two years any professional relationship, the same abstain from voting in its report and writing ABSTAIN. T the end of each Round, for maximum transparency, the Art Director will exhibit publicly all votations for each Member of the Jury. Before the start for each category the Art Director proceed with the appeal and the immediate drawing of the letter; with the drawing of letter will be extablished the exact order af all performances. Competitors absent at the time of convening pass in the queue to all the others; if they were absent in the latter case, shall be finally registered NOT PRESENT nad excluded from participation. 5) Belowe all Categories divided by age group and related programs of each Rounds with maximum playing time that in no case have to be overcome:

1st INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR YOUNG PIANISTS“ Franz Liszt Trophy”

RULE

1) The “Ferenc Liszt International Society” , with sponsorship and contribution of the City of Grottammare ( AP ), organize the first edition of the International Piano Competition for Young Pianists “Franz Liszt Trophy " . The competition is open to pianists from all over the world , of both sexes , and that the date of the “Finalissima” no older than 25 years of age. 2) The Competition is divided into 5 Categories divided by age group. The Competitors can register only in their Category and all executions should be carried from memory. - “A” Category: until 9 years- Preliminary Round: any composition by J. S. Bach and one brilliant Etude.- Final Round: maximum duration of 8 minutes – the competitors will play one or more pieces of free choice.

- “B” Category: until 12 years- Preliminary Round: one composition by J. S. Bach from Inventions in Two Voices ore Inventions in Three

Voices and one brilliant Etude.- Final Round: maximum duration of 10 minutes – the competitors will play one or more pieces of free choice.

- “C” Category: until 15 years- Preliminary Round: by J. S. Bach three dances extracted from French or English Suites and one brilliant

Etude.- Final Round: maximum duration of 15 minutes – the competitors will play one or more pieces of free choice.

- “D” Category: until 19 years- Preliminary Round: by J. S. Bach one Prelude and Fugue choice from 1st or 2nd Book of “Clavicembalo

Ben Temperato” and one brilliant Etude choice from Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff or Skriabin.- Final Round: maximum duration of 20 minutes – the competitors will play one or more pieces of free choice.

- “E” Category: until 25 years- Preliminary Round: by J. S. Bach one Prelude and Fugue choice from 1st or 2nd Book of “Clavicembalo

Ben Temperato” or one Toccata or one Partita or one Fantasia and Fugue and one brilliant Etude choice from Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Skriabin, Debussy or Ligety.

- Final Round: maximum duration of 30 minutes – the competitors will play one or more pieces of free choice.

N.B: Although not required will be especially welcome performances of Liszt compositions.

6) PRIZESAll the Competitors not awarded that have not passed the Preliminary Round will receive Partecipation Diploms without score. To the trhee Competitors who have had access to the Final Round and depending on their placement will be awarded the following Prizes:

“A” Category:- 1st Absolute Prize: score not less than 98/100 points; Diploma, Cup and Scholarship of 300,00 €uros.- 1st Prize: score not less than 95/100 points; Diploma and Gold Medal.- 2nd Prize: score not less than 90/100 points; Diploma and Silver Medal.- 3rd Prize: score not less than 85/100 points; Diploma and Bronze Medal.

“B” Category:- 1st Absolute Prize: score not less than 98/100 points; Diploma, Cup and Scholarship of 400,00 €uros.- 1st Prize: score not less than 95/100 points; Diploma and Gold Medal.- 2nd Prize: score not less than 90/100 points; Diploma and Silver Medal.- 3rd Prize: score not less than 85/100 points; Diploma and Bronze Medal.

“C” Category:- 1st Absolute Prize: score not less than 98/100 points; Diploma, Cup and Scholarship of 500,00 €uros.- 1st Prize: score not less than 95/100 points; Diploma and Gold Medal.- 2nd Prize: score not less than 90/100 points; Diploma and Silver Medal.- 3rd Prize: score not less than 85/100 points; Diploma and Bronze Medal.

“D” Category:- 1st Absolute Prize: score not less than 98/100 points; Diploma, Cup and Scholarship of 600,00 €uros.- 1st Prize: score not less than 95/100 points; Diploma and Gold Medal.- 2nd Prize: score not less than 90/100 points; Diploma and Silver Medal.- 3rd Prize: score not less than 85/100 points; Diploma and Bronze Medal.

“E” Category:- 1st Absolute Prize: score not less than 98/100 points; Diploma, Cup and Scholarship of 700,00 €uros.- 1st Prize: score not less than 95/100 points; Diploma and Gold Medal.- 2nd Prize: score not less than 90/100 points; Diploma and Silver Medal.- 3rd Prize: score not less than 85/100 points; Diploma and Bronze Medal.

N.B: If there were more First Absolute Prize for each Category the Scholarship will be assigned to Competitor that obtaining the highest score. With the same score the Scholarship will be divided equally between the respective Winners.

FINALISSIMA – GRAND FINALAll Competitors awarded with 1st Absolute Prize will perfom again with the program agreed with the Jury and extract from the one already presented in previous Rounds,during the GRAND FINAL scheduled for Sunday, 23 October, 2016 at the “Teatro delle Energie” of Groottammare City (AP) beginning at hours 6.30 p.m. On that ocassion, the Competitors will perform with appropriate dress-concert in the presence of political and religious leaders, journalist, sponsors and Jury which will hold a new vote in order to designate the ABSOLUTE WINNER of Competition. The vote will be expressed by simple ranking that each Member of Jury will express from the 1st to 5th place. The Absolute Winner, therefore, will be awarded of the sum of all preferences that will have obtained the lowest total. At the discretion of the Art Director, if for one or more categories there should not be a First Absolute Prize, go through to the Grand Finale the winners of simple 1st Prize. In such case, and only in this case, the Scholarship of category scheduled for the Firs Aboslute Prize wil be awarded to the winner of First Prize. At the ABSOLUTE WINNER of the Competition will be awarded the following Prizes:

- Absolute Winner Diploma and “Franz Liszt Trophy”- Scholarship of 1.000,00 €uros- Three Recitals with expenses in the 2016/2017 Season- One concert with orchestra in the 2016 – 2017 Season in Romania.

N.B: The cash Prizes will be awarded during the GRAND FINAL directly on stage by Sponsors.

7) PROVISIONAL TIMETABLEAll Competitors are requested to inform by phone of their day and exactly hour of audition from 10th October 2016 directly with the Art Director at: (+39) 347 4817288. This Calendar should be considered provisional and only after the date of 10th October, 2016 will be made known to the Official Calendar. Therefore, this provisional calendar will be confirmed, changed entirely or in part:

8) On signing the application form the Competitors accept unconditionally all rules included in this Rule. Although not specifically mentioned in this Rule will be referred exclusively to the Art Director of the Competition which will provide guidance and clarifications on items that may be difficult to interpret or in absence of other and more informations.

9) Competitors will provide on their own to all costs of hotel, lunchs and travel. The Organization did not responde in any case of damage to persons or things and no twill pay any expenses incurred by Competitors. During the Preliminary and Final Rounds is allowed the use of video – audio – recording devices as long as they do not impede the normal proceedings of the Competition. Absolutely no video-audio-recording during the GRAND FINAL of Sunday, 23th Orctober 2016. All vide-audio-recording material produced by the Organization will remain the exclusive property of the same, and in no case will boast economic pretensions.

10) JURY io conto a tutte le spese di vitto, alloggio e di viaggio. The Jury will be composed of eminent personalities from the world of concert music, by internationalll renowned pianists and Teachers of Conservatory and International Academies. The Jury’s decision will be final and in no case be challenged.

11) ENROLLMENTRequests to partecipate must be written on official Application Form downloaded from the website: www.premioliszt.it and be sent by no later than the deadline of 30, September 2016. pia del bonifico della Tassa di Iscrizione. Request to partecipate must be complete with:

- Copy of a valid and not expired document;- Copy of complete application form;- Copy of paymenent of the entry fee.

All E.mails deprived of one or more documents are void. The tax for the Registration Fee will not be returned under any circumstances and for any reason. The only exception will be the one in which the Competition does not take place for reasons of inability. In this case all Fess will be returned in full.
